Travel Sommelier is a boutique luxury travel company whose mission is to design and execute curated itineraries that reflect our discerning clients’ individualities, enabling them to experience distinctive destinations around the world.
Position Summary: The Senior Sales Executive is an externally facing leadership role responsible for cultivating high-value client relationships, driving new business growth, and representing Travel Sommelier within elite personal and professional networks. This role partners closely with the Founder and CEO to design travel itineraries for our discerning, globally minded clients while upholding the company’s white-glove service standards and expanding the firm’s client base.
The Senior Sales Executive serves as a strategic extension of the Founder, exercising sales aptitude and independent judgment in client engagement and business development when appropriate. Success in this role requires strong curiosity, attention to detail, professionalism, and the ability to learn quickly in a high-touch, service-driven travel-focused environment.
Employment Status: Full-Time
Location: Remote; candidates must be based outside the Greater Boston area. Initial onboarding and training will require in-person presence in the Boston area for a defined training period.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities The essential functions of this role include, but are not limited to, the following:
Sales and Relationship Development
Mentors directly with the Founder and CEO to adopt Travel Sommelier’s sales philosophy, client approach, and service standards.
Builds credibility and trust with high-discretion clients through confident, peer-level communication and trusted advisory engagement.
Leverages existing personal and professional relationships to introduce new qualified clients to Travel Sommelier.
Represents Travel Sommelier at private events, social gatherings, and industry-adjacent settings where relationships are cultivated organically.
Acts as a brand ambassador among circles where referrals are relationship-driven rather than transactional.
Itinerary Knowledge & Cross-Functional Collaboration
Leverages a strong understanding of itinerary structure, pacing, and luxury travel expectations.
Guides clients through planning decisions with clarity and confidence from initial inquiry through proposal preparation.
Supports the transition of client-approved trips to the Operations Team through accurate documentation and handoff, addressing questions and outstanding itinerary details.
Communicates client expectations, preferences, and key details clearly to Operations and external partners, and supports issue resolution collaboratively.
Ensures client files are accurate, complete, and up to date before handoff.
CRM & Administrative Responsibilities
Maintains accurate and timely CRM entries for assigned clients and inquiries.
Documents client preferences, communications, proposals, and next steps.
Incorporates supplier portfolio overview and competitive intelligence as appropriate.
Follows established internal processes, timelines, and quality standards.
Client Support & Issue Management
Supports clients during travel as needed, escalating issues appropriately and in accordance with internal protocols.
Acts as point of contact for key clients when the Founder is traveling on company business, escalating matters as appropriate.
Anticipates potential challenges and prevents them through proactive communication.
Maintains professionalism, discretion, and calm judgment in time-sensitive situations.

Required Qualifications
Strong interest in luxury travel, sales, or client relationship management.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
High level of organization and attention to detail.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and follow through consistently.
Comfort working closely with senior leadership in a dynamic, fast‑evolving environment.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in hospitality, travel, sales support, or client‑facing roles.
A passion for travel.
Experience traveling internationally and a keen understanding of geography.
Familiarity with CRM systems or willingness to learn.
Demonstrated success generating business through referrals, relationships, or personal networks.
Experience engaging with high-net‑worth or ultra‑high‑net‑worth clientele in a trusted advisory capacity.
Background in environments where discretion, access, and reputation are critical (e.g., private banking, wealth management, luxury real estate, private aviation, family offices, elite membership organizations).
This is a hybrid role, with a consistent in‑office presence required during the initial training phase.
This role may require flexibility to support clients across time zones.
Occasional evenings or weekends may be required during active travel periods.
Expected to model Travel Sommelier’s standards of service, discretion, and professionalism at all times.
