Overview
Ariel Gordon Jewelry is looking for a driven and nimble Sales Lead who will support wholesale and VIP retail customers, run the wholesale program, and spearhead in-person selling events including in-store trunk shows with wholesale partners and trunk shows for private clients in their homes, as well as direct sales and wholesale appointments at the studio.
Because we are a small, efficient team, this role will adapt to seasonal needs and may include assisting with customer service, photo shoot prep, jewelry production, website maintenance (product pages, inventory, merchandising, tagging) and coordinating/archiving digital assets (product, UGC, lookbook photography).
This role requires a willingness to jump in on various tasks and the initiative to recognize where the team needs you most. It requires a detail-oriented mindset, solutions-based thinking, and a well-spoken, proactive individual who loves to sell. We are a steadily growing company in need of someone who is enthusiastic, responsible, and flexible. Previous jewelry experience is not required.
Must be based in the Bay Area; on-site at our Berkeley offices; travel up to eight days a month, and possibly more during seasonal selling peaks.
Responsibilities
WHOLESALE OPERATIONS
Maximize selling from current roster of accounts
Identify and obtain new wholesale accounts in partnership with the COO
Relationship management with wholesale accounts including general check-ins, sell-throughs and reorder suggestions
Review OH and sell-through reports from wholesale accounts on a monthly basis to provide re-order/RTV suggestions
Communicate with wholesale accounts regarding production timelines and fulfillment of orders
Pulling, packing, and shipping all wholesale orders
Invoice and receive payments
Oversight and management of all consignment accounts (inventory, invoicing, etc)
Assist with quality control of merchandise
Receiving RTVs
IN-PERSON SELLING
Project manage and execute the seasonal in-person selling calendar
Promote all in-person selling events in partnership with marketing
Run the annual Archive sale at the AGJ studio
Pack and prep all trunk shows and in person selling events
Attending trunk shows or tradeshows on behalf of AGJ with a focus on proactive selling, customer acquisition, and relationship building
Maintain a roster of VIP clients and proactively sell to them seasonally and in person
PRODUCTION & ORDER FULFILLMENT
Assist with the preparation of vendor purchase orders for sales that you generate via wholesale and trunk shows
Assist with quality control and receiving of merchandise that comes back from vendors
MARKETING AND SAMPLE COORDINATION
Facilitate stylist and sample pulls - checking merchandise in and out / monitoring timeliness of returns
Maintain jewelry sample line for use in-house, trade shows, private sales, showroom appointment and photoshoots
Manage the execution of influencer product gifting in partnership with marketing
VIP CLIENTELE / CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE
Assist the Client Experience Manager during peak season rushes
Be available to work with clients in the studio, via zoom, phone, email, or chat in a timely and friendly manner (knowledge of Zendesk helpful but not required)
Execute exceptional customer experience in all interactions and escalations with customers
GENERAL OFFICE SUPPORT
Share the duties of day-to-day office functions (phones, mail, receiving packages, filing)
Attend company functions, events, photo shoots, occasionally outside of regular working hours
Execute ad hoc seasonal or one-off projects in partnership with other team members
Qualifications
WORK EXPERIENCE
A minimum 1-3 years of sales experience, preferably hybrid digital and in-person
QUALIFICATIONS
An interest in jewelry and the jewelry industry
Detail-oriented, analytical, organized, self-motivated, punctual
Ability to work in a fast-paced setting under tight deadlines with strong project and time management skills
Comfortable working both autonomously and collaboratively with a team
Knowledge and aptitude for working with backend e-commerce technology (Shopify, Zendesk, Quickbooks, Slack, Google Docs, Google Drive, Airtable, etc). A working knowledge of Adobe programs (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) is a huge plus.
Your own reliable transportation and ability to travel independently
Ability to lift up to 35lbs
LOCATION
Must be based in Bay Area within commuting distance of our offices in Berkeley, this position is full time in-office.
COMPENSATION
This is a full time position from 9:30 am - 5:30 pm with salary pay
