ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Clear tables of used dishes, utensils, and trash. Efficiently and promptly reset tables by wiping them down and arranging seating.

Collaborate with the waitstaff to promptly refill water glasses, replace used utensils, remove dirty plates, and provide condiments and any additional assistance as required.

Responsively and courteously attending to guest requests to ensure their needs are met to enhance their overall dining experience.

Maintain a well-stocked supply of utensils, napkins, condiments, and other essential items.

Establish effective communication and coordination between the front-of-house and back-of-house operations by working closely with the kitchen and waitstaff.

Assist with general cleaning tasks, such as sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and dusting.

Adhere to all safety and sanitation regulations to maintain a secure environment for both staff and guests.

Offer support to other team members during busy periods or special events to ensure the smooth operation of Baja Billy’s Mexican Cantina.

Regular and reliable attendance is a fundamental requirement of this position. Employees are expected to be punctual and consistently present during their scheduled work hours to ensure the effective and efficient operation of the business.

Wears and maintains all uniforms properly, including nametag. Must wear a gaming license if in possession of one.

Performs other duties, including special projects, as needed and directed.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS Previous experience as a bus person or in a similar role within the hospitality industry is preferred. Strong attention to detail and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency in organization and effective task prioritization. Flexibility to work varying shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as dictated by business needs.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE Graduation from high school or equivalent is preferred. No previous experience is required, however prior knowledge or experience in a restaurant, hospitality, or gaming environment is desirable.

LANGUAGE SKILLS Demonstrated effective and diplomatic oral and written communication skills using English.

REASONING ABILITY No decision making is required beyond scope of essential duties.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS Knowledge of safety and sanitation practices in a restaurant setting.

OTHER SKILLS/ABILITIES Capability to work collaboratively as part of a team and communicate effectively with colleagues and guests. Exceptional customer service skills with a friendly and approachable demeanor.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS Essential duties involve performing physical exertion such as frequent brisk walking, climbing stairs, bending, stretching, reaching, pushing, kneeling, squatting, crouching, stooping, and standing for an entire work shift with standard breaks. Essential duties require lifting trays, plates, pots, pans, and other cooking utensils and lifting up to 30 pounds to stack, store, or move kitchen, restaurant, or general office supplies and equipment. Essential duties involve a flexible workweek with additional hours routinely required.

WORK ENVIRONMENT Essential duties involve working in a small, confined work area and restaurant environment with floors that may become slippery in the process of preparing food and beverages. Essential duties require working in an inside environment with large numbers of people and a commonly hot or cold work environment due to running ovens and refrigeration units.

MATERIALS AND EQUIPMENT DIRECTLY USED Equipment typical of a commercial kitchen and restaurant including but not limited to: refrigerators, knives, spoons, forks, glasses, plates, pots, pans, pitchers, and various cleaning supplies and materials.
