The Workforce Development Representative provides direct career services to Minnesotans by delivering high-quality guidance, support, and instruction across CareerForce programs. This role helps job seekers understand employment options, strengthen job search skills, access available resources, and navigate workforce systems so they can make informed career decisions. The representative plays a key role in assisting Unemployment Insurance applicants, Veterans, and other priority populations by offering individualized and group services, facilitating workshops, and connecting customers to training and employment opportunities.

Operating with increasing independence, the Workforce Development Representative collaborates with partners, employers, and internal teams to ensure timely, accurate, and customer-centered service delivery. The position requires strong communication skills, the ability to interpret program requirements, and a commitment to delivering inclusive, culturally responsive services. This role directly supports CareerForce’s mission of helping Minnesotans find meaningful employment and employers find qualified candidates.

This position is telework (https://mn.gov/mmb-stat/policies/1422-telework.pdf) eligible. Staff are provided with the tools and equipment to be successful in a virtual work environment. Please note, the telework policy could change with notice based on business needs.

Minimum Qualifications One (1) year of experience providing career services, employment support, program delivery, customer service, or related work that involves assisting individuals in navigating complex information, systems, or resources.

Applicants that meet the above minimum qualification will be further evaluated on the following:

Experience facilitating training, workshops, orientations, or group instruction.

Experience conducting assessments, interviews, or screenings to identify customer needs and determine next steps.

Experience providing consultation, guidance, or coaching to help individuals make informed decisions.

Skilled in managing multiple priorities and maintaining accuracy in a fast-paced or high-volume environment.

Experience using computer systems, online tools, or databases to research information, support customers, or document interactions.

Skill in communicating clearly and professionally with diverse populations across verbal and written channels.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience delivering services within workforce development, adult education, counseling, human services, career coaching, or related field as determined by the agency.

Knowledge of CareerForce program or similar workforce or public assistance programs.

Experience working with job seekers from diverse backgrounds, including individuals facing employment barriers.

Experience using MinnesotaWorks.net, labor market information tools, or job search platforms.

Experience collaborating with employers, workforce partners, community organizations, or educational institutions.

Ability to use Microsoft Office, online platforms, and virtual tools (Teams, Webex, etc.) to support service delivery.
