
Worship & Production Director

Position Summary
The Worship & Production Director leads all worship and production environments at Watermark Church to create distraction-free, engaging, and Spirit-led experiences where people can encounter God.
This role is responsible for both executing and multiplying—leading worship, overseeing production systems, and developing volunteer teams and leaders who can carry ownership across all environments. The goal is not just to run services, but to build a sustainable, scalable ministry that does not depend on one person.
Reports To Lead Pastor & Executive Director
Position Type Full-Time
Primary Responsibilities 1. Worship Leadership
Lead worship regularly for Sunday services and key environments
Build and develop a healthy, consistent worship culture
Oversee song selection, arrangements, and setlists
Maintain and grow the church’s worship library
2. Production Oversight
Oversee all production environments (audio, lighting, video, presentation)
Program and manage lighting using
Vista lighting software
Ensure ProPresenter, Planning Center, and all systems are accurate and organized
Oversee live stream execution and scheduling
3. Full Environment Ownership Provide leadership and oversight for all worship and production needs across:
Sunday Services
Watermark Students (Youth Nights)
Young Adult gatherings
Worship Nights
Special Events (Easter, Christmas, etc.)
This is a church-wide leadership role, not limited to Sunday mornings.
4. Volunteer Team Development
Recruit, train, and develop worship and production volunteers
Build depth across all roles (audio, lighting, ProPresenter, cameras, band)
Create clear onboarding and training pathways
Schedule teams through Planning Center
5. Leadership Multiplication
Identify and develop volunteer leaders within each area
Empower leaders to take ownership of key responsibilities, including:
ProPresenter playlist creation
Service preparation and setup
Team communication and coordination
Build a structure where ministry is not dependent on one person
6. Service Planning & Execution
Collaborate with Lead Pastor and staff on service planning
Ensure services are prepared, rehearsed, and executed with excellence
Oversee service flow and production execution
7. Systems & Organization
Maintain clean, organized, and repeatable systems
Ensure Planning Center is accurate and up to date
Create and document workflows for all production roles
8. External Event Support
Oversee and coordinate all production needs for outside groups using the Watermark facility
Ensure audio, lighting, video, and presentation systems are properly set up for external use
Communicate clearly with outside groups regarding production capabilities and expectations
Determine when personal presence is required vs. when trained volunteers can support the event
Ensure all equipment is reset and ready for the next church service or event

Required Competencies
Proficiency in:
Planning Center Online (PCO)
ProPresenter
Vista lighting software
Strong vocal and/or instrumental worship leadership ability
Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
Ability to develop people and build teams
Ability to troubleshoot and problem-solve under pressure
Qualifications
Experience leading worship in a church setting
Experience overseeing production environments (audio, lighting, video)
Proven ability to recruit, train, and lead volunteer teams
Strong understanding of church culture and ministry environments
