Souhegan High School is seeking an organized, collaborative, and dependable Assistant Athletic Director to support the day-to-day operations of our athletic programs at both Souhegan High School and Amherst Middle School.
This role is essential to ensuring that athletic programs run smoothly, safely, and efficiently for student-athletes and coaches. The Assistant Athletic Director works in close partnership with the Athletic Director to coordinate logistics, manage systems, and support a positive and well-run athletic experience across all programs.

Contract Period: 240 days
Reports To: Athletic Director
Supervises: Coaches (as delegated)
Position Goal: The Assistant Athletic Director ensures the smooth, day-to-day operation of athletic programs at Souhegan High School and Amherst Middle School by coordinating scheduling, events, compliance, communication, and equipment, while supporting coaches and student-athletes.
Qualifications, Experience & Required Skills
Bachelor's Degree
Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills, with attention to detail
Knowledge of NHIAA and Tri-County League rules and safety standards
Ability to follow through on systems and work collaboratively in a fast-paced, changing environment \
Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by the athletic schedule
Other Preferred Skills And Considerations
Previous experience in athletic administration, coaching, or program coordination
Experience managing logistics, scheduling, or operations in a school or organizational setting
Valid NH teacher certification
Evaluation
Performance of position responsibilities will be evaluated annually in accordance with the approved administrative procedure for staff evaluation
Core Responsibilities Operations & Coordination
Manage day-to-day athletic department operations in alignment with the Athletic Director
Maintain accurate records for eligibility, participation, and compliance
Ensure systems, timelines, and processes are consistently followed
Scheduling & Logistics
Coordinate game and practice schedules
Organize transportation, officials, and event logistics
Maintain accurate and up-to-date athletic calendars
Game & Event Management
Oversee operations for home contests, including setup, supervision, and troubleshooting
Ensure all event requirements are in place and running smoothly
Equipment & Facilities
Manage ordering, distribution, collection, and inventory of equipment and uniforms
Coordinate maintenance, reconditioning, and storage
Support safe and organized athletic facilities
Budget & Purchasing Support
Process orders and track expenses in alignment with district procedures
Maintain organized records related to purchases and inventory
Communication & Support
Manage and update athletic calendars, announcements, and social media to ensure timely and accurate communication
Support coaches with clear expectations, timelines, and procedures
Additional Responsibilities
Perform other tasks and assume responsibilities as assigned by the Athletic Director or Principal
Maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and a high level of reliability
Attend and participate in required meetings, events, and professional development
