Our team of interdisciplinary engineers works collaboratively with clients to design buildings and processes that are on track for safety, performance, and sustainability.
Your Key Responsibilities
Perform structural calculations and analysis of buildings and other structures.
Assist in preparing deliverable documents including drawings, specifications, and reports.
Works with and coordinates with architectural, interiors, and other engineering disciplines.
Assist Construction Administration duties including completing field observations reports, responding to RFIs, submittal reviews, and evaluating contractor change orders.
Participate in project meetings; communicate design issues and solutions with the design team.
Develop an understanding of industry standard design processes and construction means and methods.
Work within project scope, budgets, and design approach to deliver projects to clients on time, on budget, and at a high level of client service.
Assist with the development of design standards.
Your Capabilities and Credentials
Basic knowledge and understanding of structural building codes and requirements.
Ability to interpret sketches, drawings, building code and other similar material.
Ability to participate and collaborate in a project team setting and to engage in creative and critical thought.
Ability to communicate both verbally and in written form concepts and ideas to a diverse audience including architects, engineers, and clients effectively.
Basic understanding of Revit, and the use of it as a drafting/design tool.
Requires understanding of Microsoft Office Suite, Revit; Bluebeam Revu; Component Design Software such as Enercalc; Finite Element Analysis Software such as RISA and SAP/ETABS.
Education and Experience
4 years of related experience preferred.
Bachelor’s degree in civil, structural, or architectural engineering with an emphasis in structures is required.
NCEES EIT is preferred but not required.
Experience with earthquake seismic design or coursework is required.
Experience with Revit and other BIM 3D modelling software is preferred.
Prior internship experience at an engineering related firm is preferred.
Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.
