The HR Specialist is responsible for managing specific human resources functions, including recruitment, employee relations, benefits administration, compliance, and HR policy implementation. This role serves as a subject-matter expert for assigned HR areas and supports the HR team in creating a positive, productive workplace.
Key Responsibilities
Manage end-to-end recruitment processes, including job postings, candidate screening, interviewing, and onboarding
Administer employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and voluntary benefits
Support employee relations initiatives, addressing questions, concerns, and conflicts professionally and confidentially
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws, as well as company policies
Maintain and update HR records, personnel files, and HRIS data
Assist in performance management processes, including evaluations, goal setting, and development plans
Coordinate training and development programs
Provide guidance to managers and employees on HR policies, procedures, and best practices
Support HR projects, reporting, and initiatives to improve processes and employee engagement
Manage employee time and attendance
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
3+ years of HR experience, preferably in generalist or specialist roles
Strong knowledge of labor laws, HR best practices, and employee relations
Proficiency with HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism
Preferred Skills
HR certifications (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR)
Experience with payroll and benefits administration
Training and development experience
Strong interpersonal skills and conflict resolution abilities
