Chris McMillan is hiring: Senior Manager of Influencer Marketing in Los Angeles

Chris McMillan, Los Angeles, CA, United States

Chris McMillan Hair is a high-performance haircare brand rooted in artistry and built to make good hair accessible for all. Founded by Chris McMillan, with over four decades behind the chair, the brand carries a level of credibility and craft that shows up in everything we create. Chris is still a working stylist, taking clients every day — and that hands‑on perspective is at the heart of who we are. Our products are designed to work just as well at home as they do in the salon. Based on the Sunset Strip in West Hollywood, our team is tight‑knit, passionate, and genuinely loves what we’re building together. If you’re looking to build something from the ground up, this is the place.

ABOUT THIS ROLE

We’re looking for a Senior Manager of Influencer Marketing to build and grow our community across influencers, tastemakers, and the professional stylist world. This role owns and drives our influencer and partnership strategy — developing a strong network of creators and stylists who are genuinely connected to the brand and want to be part of what we’re building. You’ll lead how we build relationships, structure paid partnerships, and show up across cultural moments — creating a program that drives brand relevance, awareness, and conversion. You’ll work closely with the VP of Marketing and founder, helping translate Chris’ authority into a modern, connected community that fuels both brand and business growth.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Build and grow a strong community of influencers, tastemakers, and professional stylists around the brand
  • Develop and manage long‑term relationships with creators, agents, and stylists, building real affinity and trust over time
  • Own and drive the influencer program across both paid and earned — structuring partnerships that deliver reach, engagement, and conversion
  • Lead paid partnerships end to end, including partner identification, negotiation, briefing, execution, and performance tracking
  • Develop and execute a consistent seeding strategy that keeps the brand in the hands of the right people and builds ongoing momentum
  • Create and oversee community‑driven activations, events, and experiences that deepen relationships and expand brand presence
  • Activate the brand across key cultural moments, including editorial, red carpet, and stylist‑led opportunities
  • Partner closely with brand, social, PR, and retail teams to ensure influencer efforts are fully integrated into broader campaigns and commercial priorities
  • Own performance tracking and analytics across influencer efforts, including EMV, reach, engagement, affiliate, and conversion — using tools such as Tribe Dynamics/CreatorIQ to measure impact and guide strategy
  • Maintain strong system hygiene across influencer platforms and databases, ensuring accurate tracking, reporting, and visibility into performance over time
  • Manage influencer budgets and use performance insights to optimize spend, scale what’s working, and drive EMV and overall program growth

YOU’LL THRIVE HERE IF

  • You’re a relationship builder at your core. Creators, agents, stylists, and internal partners all want to work with you — because you’re dependable, genuine, and you invest in people for the long term, not just the next campaign. We’re people’s people here, and we want someone who is too.
  • You’re a creative problem solver. You don’t wait for a playbook — you write it. Whether it’s concepting a new kind of activation or figuring out how to stretch a budget, you bring ideas and energy to everything you touch.
  • You take ownership and initiative. You chart your own path — what you put into this opportunity is what you get out of it. You’re organized, you prioritize well, and you don’t wait to be told what to do next. You motivate the people around you, bring others along, and make the work better by being in the room.
  • You’re deeply passionate about beauty, fashion, and culture. You pay attention to what’s happening — not just in hair and beauty, but across fashion, architecture, design, and every major culture moment. You watch the shows, you follow the conversations, and you bring that broader lens into your work every day.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

  • 5+ years in influencer marketing, with meaningful experience in beauty, hair, or prestige consumer brands
  • Established relationships across the creator, talent management, and professional stylist landscape — you know the right people and they know you
  • Hands‑on experience across the full influencer mix: paid partnerships, organic seeding, events and activations, and creator commerce
  • Proven taste in casting and curation — you know how to build a creator roster that feels intentional and drives real results
  • Energized by a fast‑paced, founder‑led environment with a high degree of ownership and autonomy over your work

WHY CHRIS McMILLAN

  • Be part of the legacy. Chris has spent over four decades building one of the most respected names in hair — and now that artistry is becoming a brand. This isn’t a trend‑driven moment. It’s the product of real work, real credibility, and a founder who’s still in it every single day.
  • Get in at the perfect time. We’re in a serious growth stage with strong momentum at Sephora and expanding into the pro channel. The foundation is set, the trajectory is steep, and there’s a lot of surface area to make your mark.
  • Join a team you’ll love working with. We’re a tight‑knit group that has fun, supports each other, and is genuinely excited about what we’re building together. Every day brings something new, and you’ll make real impact alongside people you enjoy showing up with. Beautiful office on the Sunset Strip, competitive salary, health benefits, and product perks.
