Senior Revenue Accountant Location: Arlington, VA – In office, Monday - Friday

Role Overview As a Senior Accountant, you will be primarily responsible for assisting in the global monthly revenue close process, including the analysis of accounts receivable and preparation of the allowance for credit losses. Revenue close responsibilities include preparation of monthly journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analyses related to the monthly results. This position will also collaborate with the Financial Planning and Analysis, Billings, Cash collections, and Revenue Service teams to understand fluctuations from budget and forecast.

The Senior Accountant should have general knowledge of GAAP and experience working within a monthly close process, preparing journal entries and account reconciliations, and identifying and improving monthly processes. Eagerness to learn, strong communication, time‑management, and organizational skills are required. The role requires adaptability to change and a strong work ethic for independent and collaborative work. This position reports to the Senior Manager of Revenue.

The role may involve exposure to technical accounting issues and interactions with external auditors related to the close process, account reconciliations, and variance analyses.

Responsibilities

Preparation of monthly journal entries and supporting schedules and review of monthly financial results.

Accounts receivable analysis and preparation of the allowance for credit losses.

Assistance in a variety of aspects of the Enterprise Resource Planning system implementation.

Assistance with special projects within the department or as part of cross‑functional teams.

Research technical accounting issues.

Work with external auditors and facilitate review of the close process, account reconciliations, and variance analyses.

Ensure timely monthly close and accurate monthly results.

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance from an accredited, not‑for‑profit, in‑person college/university.

A track record of commitment to prior employers.

5+ years of relevant professional experience with at least 3+ years accounting experience working in a large international public company and/or Big 4 accounting firm.

Experience preparing or reviewing monthly journal entries and account reconciliations.

Process implementation experience.

Strong project management, time management, and organizational skills.

General knowledge of GAAP guidelines and ability to enhance knowledge and apply to a variety of situations.

Familiarity with systems and optimizing use of systems to generate data for analyses.

Strong Excel skills required.

Preferred Qualifications

CPA or CPA candidate.

Experience with Oracle ERP a plus.

Demonstrated working knowledge of ASC 606 a plus.
