As a Manager In Training, you will work in a hybrid role as a Sales Associate while participating in a structured training program designed to prepare you for a future management position. You’ll learn the sales process, company policies, and leadership skills from experienced managers to become an effective leader. You will learn the Showroom Manager role through on-the-job training to prepare for a future opportunity to manage a City Furniture showroom and a team of associates. The primary function is to increase showroom sales, customer satisfaction, and associate satisfaction while reducing expenses through strategic daily management. At CITY Furniture, Sales Associates are entrepreneurs who shape their success. We provide furniture, marketing support, delivery services, and aftercare. You’ll maximize these resources by building your customer base through referrals, repeat purchases, and prospecting past guests. You may schedule up to one appointment per month, or more, depending on your business. Position Title: Sales Manager In Training Reports to: Sales Leadership Location: Department/Sub-Department: Sales Compensation: Uncapped earning potential through commissions plus a $30/hour rate when scheduled for manager on-the-job training. As a Manager In Training, your primary responsibilities include: Learning the Showroom Manager role with daily showroom management tasks Handling customer service issues Engaging with associates and guests to drive sales, services, financing, quality, and customer satisfaction Conducting training sessions with associates Assisting with problem-solving in the showroom Communicating and supporting new initiatives, processes, and changes to drive results Learning and completing showroom inventory counts Learning to manage a team and drive showroom/team performance Shadowing experienced managers to learn operational and leadership skills Contributing to team meetings and learning from senior leaders Learning and practicing Showroom Manager responsibilities As a Sales Associate, you will: Help guests design a home they’ll love Engage and present furnishings and service options Navigate large showrooms and be on your feet daily Build personal connections and guide customers through the sales process Assist guests in finding financing options Convert interactions into sales and create invoices and deliveries Prospect and manage accounts Maintain a neat showroom for a welcoming experience Meet or exceed monthly sales goals and KPIs Address customer concerns to ensure satisfaction Continue professional development Compensation
This is a commission-driven position with uncapped earning potential. Expected first-year earnings are $65,000+ while learning sales and leadership roles. When performing managerial duties, you’ll be paid $30/hour in addition to commissions. Upon promotion to Showroom Manager, compensation becomes a salary with bonus potential, averaging around $75,000 per year. What We’re Looking For

Schedule: Ability to work evenings and weekends as part of a full-time, 40-hour-per-week schedule Technology Requirements: Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook), Google Suite; training will use an iPad for transactions, inventory checks, etc. Ability to guide customers throughout the showroom for extended periods; showrooms can be large and require substantial movement Are You Excited?
