The Purpose of Your Role The Community Engagement Coordinator is responsible for building and sustaining meaningful connections between OCD Anxiety Centers and the communities we serve — locally and nationally. This is a relationship-first role with a public-facing, national presence. You will bridge our alumni program with broader community outreach, turning former clients into advocates, amplifying our mission through storytelling and events, and deepening our reach among individuals and families affected by Anxiety, Trauma, and OCD.

You will be the face of our brand in the community, working closely with the Marketing Director to ensure every touchpoint — from a virtual support group to a national awareness campaign — reflects our values and drives both engagement and admissions. This role supports programs across all OCD Anxiety Centers locations and requires flexibility for occasional evening and weekend work, scheduled in advance.

Success Indicators/KPIs

>100 individual alumni actively participating in the program on a monthly basis

>2 virtual support meetings held per week, with consistent growth in attendance over time (separate groups for alumni and the general public)

10 monthly readmissions attributed to alumni engagement and community outreach

1 active ambassador per market, with growth in public appearances, stories shared, and advocacy activities

>20 participants in each weekly public support group

Core Competencies

Demonstrated ability to build, nurture, and sustain relationships with diverse audiences

Deep understanding of behavioral health, including OCD, anxiety, trauma, and relapse prevention

Strong event planning and community organizing skills

Experience managing volunteers, advocates, or ambassador programs

Excellent written and verbal communication, with the ability to adapt tone for different audiences

Comfort with sensitive conversations, including crisis awareness and appropriate escalation

Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and data tracking tools

Experience with virtual meeting platforms (Google Meet, Zoom, Teams, etc.)

Core Responsibilities Alumni Engagement

Manage and grow the alumni program, maintaining consistent outreach and re‑engagement strategies for former clients and their families

Host virtual support meetings multiple times per week, developing content and facilitation guides for each session

Develop and maintain an Alumni Portal in collaboration with the digital marketing team, serving as a living resource for former clients and families

Actively and sensitively encourage alumni return for treatment when clinically appropriate

Recruit, train, and manage a roster of alumni advocates across the country willing to share their stories publicly through social media, events, press, and organizational initiatives

Maintain one active ambassador per market, with clear communication and consistent support throughout their engagement

Partner with the Marketing Director to integrate advocate stories into broader campaigns and media outreach

Content & Storytelling

Develop written and multimedia content for support meetings, the alumni portal, email communications, and social media — in collaboration with the Marketing Specialist and Marketing Director

Gather and shape alumni stories for use in testimonials, press releases, and awareness campaigns, always ensuring informed consent and client dignity

Contribute to the organization’s broader content calendar with alumni stories and engagement highlights

Track participation, engagement trends, and outcomes in structured reports shared regularly with the Marketing Director

Collaborate cross‑functionally with Admissions, Clinical, and Marketing teams to align community engagement with organizational goals

Maintain accurate records of alumni participation, advocate assignments, and event outcomes

Adheres to all company policies and procedures

The Skills and Expertise You Have

2+ years of experience in behavioral health, community outreach, social services, or patient engagement

Experience in or strong familiarity with OCD, anxiety disorders, or trauma-informed care

Demonstrated experience planning and executing community events

Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple programs simultaneously

Availability for occasional evening work (2–3 evenings per week, scheduled in advance) and periodic weekend commitments

Bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work, communications, public health, or a related field preferred

No supervisory requirements

Proficient knowledge of computers, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and other software

Accurate and efficient electronic data entry

Must be punctual and maintain excellent attendance

Organized, detail‑oriented, takes the initiative, and completes job responsibilities independently

Multitask, problem‑solve, interpersonal skills, and strong written and verbal communication skills

Thrives in a changing work environment, including remote, in‑person, and varied settings

Thrives in a changing work environment, including inside, outside, and loud noise level

Preferred Qualifications

Experience managing an alumni, ambassador, or volunteer program

Familiarity with CRM tools, alumni portals, or community management platforms

Comfort with content creation, on‑camera storytelling, or social media collaboration

Existing relationships within the behavioral health or mental health advocacy community
