Job Title: Account Manager - Drives and Automation Place of Work: Netherlands Position in the Organisation: - The Account Manager reports directly to the Sales Manager. The Client Our client is a global manufacturer of electrical and mechanical drives, motion control, and automation technology—offering products, drive solutions, complete automation systems, and engineering services and tools from one single source. They support customers throughout the entire machine development process from the control system to the drive shaft, from the initial idea to after-sales. Their products can be found in a wide range of industries, including automotive, packaging, material handling logistics, and robotics. Purpose of the Job The Account Manager will focus on expanding the customer base, nurturing strategic accounts, and delivering customer-focused solutions that align with the company's innovation-driven portfolio. The Account Manager will also proactively identify, engage, and convert new business opportunities into long-term partnerships that drive the commercial growth and profitability of our client. Responsibilities Strategic Development: Develop and implement account strategies that align with the client’s vision and growth targets. Identify, assess, and prioritize new market opportunities and potential customers, especially within OEM sectors. Create business cases and ROI-driven justifications for investment in new business opportunities. Conduct market research to monitor trends, competitors, and opportunities for differentiation. Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders at prospective and existing customers. Understand customer challenges and work cross-functionally to develop tailored solutions. Serve as a trusted advisor, guiding customers through the value proposition and supporting them throughout the Sales lifecycle. Lead the full sales cycle from prospecting to closing and onboarding. Work with the team to draft and present proposals, quotations, and presentations tailored to customer needs. Negotiate terms and close contracts in collaboration with the internal sales and legal teams. Internal Collaboration: Work closely with Inside Sales Engineers, Product Managers, and the Marketing Team to develop integrated sales strategies. Track opportunities and activities in CRM and ERP systems. Provide regular reports, forecasts, and updates to the Sales Director and wider team. Project-Based Initiatives: Lead or support strategic sales-related projects, including customer-specific initiatives and long-term partnerships. Collaborate on Go/No-Go assessments for high-impact projects. Events & Networking: Represent the company at trade shows, exhibitions, and industry networking events. Leverage industry events to build connections and increase brand visibility. Job Requirements Qualifications: Education relatable to the field of engineering or experience gained in the field is also considered. Industry Knowledge: Proven track record in Sales within Industrial Automation, Mechatronics, or a related technical sector. Experience working with OEMs and system integrators is highly desirable. Skills and Competencies: Experience of sales within Industrial Automation and Motion Control Drive Technology. Results-driven with a strategic mindset and strong business acumen. Exceptional communication, negotiation, and presentation skills. Proficient in Dutch & English, both written and spoken. Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and complex solution sales cycles.
