POSITION DESCRIPTION:

ABIC’s Digital Manager is a social media and digital content leader who is both a strategic thinker and a hands-on content creator using impactful and targeted storytelling to grow and engage audiences across multiple platforms and inspire action. They manage and execute all aspects of ABIC’s social media presence, from strategy development and identifying key audience-specific platforms to content production, rapid response engagement, community growth, influencer engagement, and spokesperson social media training. The Digital Manager understands how to communicate complex immigration issues to diverse audiences and translate policy into compelling, accessible, platform-native content.
This role supports the core work of ABIC, including stewardship of the ABIC brand and its sector-focused councils across agriculture, healthcare, construction, Hispanic communities, and food. The position is responsible for coordinating and executing initiatives that serve both the broader ABIC organization and its individual councils.

Key responsibilities include managing and supporting a range of activities such as events, announcements, websites, and social media content that align with ABIC’s overall strategy while also addressing the unique needs of each council. This role requires balancing organization-wide priorities with council-specific efforts, at times operating within the ABIC umbrella and at other times supporting councils as distinct entities.

The position is writing-intensive and requires strong content development skills, including drafting messaging, communications materials, and digital content across platforms. It also involves significant cross-team coordination, working closely with internal stakeholders and external partners to ensure alignment and successful execution of initiatives.

In addition, the role will develop and manage sector-focused media relationships, engaging with a range of voices such as social media influencers, traditional press, and industry-specific businesses to amplify ABIC’s visibility and impact across its priority sectors.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:

Strategic Leadership & Platform Management:

●     Develop and implement a comprehensive multi-platform social media strategy aligned with ABIC’s mission and advocacy priorities, with audience growth, engagement, and support as a primary goal.

●     Support the development and execution of hyperlocal and sector-specific digital campaigns and events that respond to legislative, media, and industry developments, creating tailored strategies to engage business leaders in specific regions and sectors.

●     Turn complex immigration policy proposals, fact sheets, and research into accessible, engaging social content.

●     Lead platform-specific daily content creation, developing messaging, videos, and other content assets for Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Facebook, X/Twitter, LinkedIn, and emerging channels; manage platform budgets to maximize impact and reach.

●     Determine best practices for timing, cadence, and content distribution using data and real-time indicators and platform trends on political digital culture.

●     Ensure messaging alignment across platforms and teams, working in collaboration with the communications and campaign teams to deliver consistent, strategic narratives.

●     Coordinate with external freelancers, videographers, and digital vendors, overseeing outreach, onboarding, collaboration, and content review as needed; manage external consultant for ABIC website updates.

Media Strategy, Storytelling and Engagement:

●     Produce high-impact short-form and long-form videos, graphics, explainers, and narrative digital content on a daily basis, owning content planning, creative direction, scripting, storyboarding, shooting, and editing.

●     Use a variety of content strategies to develop clear, engagement-driven campaigns, challenges, live sessions, and interactive formats that reflect ABIC’s values and goals.

●     Develop a vibrant, engaged online community that includes digital creators, immigrant advocates, entrepreneurs, business leaders, workers, policymakers, and aligned influencers who can amplify ABIC’s work.

●     Manage cross-platform comments, messages, and audience engagement with an authentic, informative, mission-driven voice.

●     Monitor political developments, news cycles, Congressional activity, and immigration-related trends to identify rapid-response moments and create and publish timely, accurate, compelling content within hours or minutes of key developments.

●     Work closely with communications and campaign staff to surface real-time relevant business leader storytelling moments, ensuring they are strategically aligned with broader policy narrative and campaign efforts, and digital engagement is maximized.

●     Support targeted storytelling and visibility campaigns at the state, local, and national levels, informing, equipping, and inspiring ABIC staff, coalition partners, and spokespeople (including immigrant leaders and business owners) on how to create and publish effective social content.

●     Capture on-the-ground moments from ABIC events, briefings, and actions for rapid deployment.

●     Create and manage an editorial calendar to maintain timelines, content calendars, and campaign milestones.

Data and Tracking:

●     Define, track, and analyze engagement data across social platforms to assess performance, refine messaging, and improve campaign impact, ensuring all communications are informed by audience behavior and campaign goals.

●     Produce regular reports and analyze performance to refine strategy, using insights to optimize content formats, posting times, tone, and targeting.

●     Monitor competitor and peer accounts for benchmarking and inspiration.

●     Monitor national and state media and policy trends to identify timely opportunities to share business voices in alignment with campaign priorities.

●     Maintain processes and systems for story sourcing, outreach timelines, content creation, and campaign delivery, ensuring consistency, speed, and collaboration across teams.

Qualifications

●     A deep commitment to advocating for a path to citizenship and comfort and ease advocating for undocumented immigrants.

●     Knowledge of and background in immigration issues at national, state, and local levels is preferred but not required.

●     A Bachelor's degree is required, with a minimum of 5 years experience in social media, digital content creation, or digital communications; public policy or organizing background preferred but not required.

●     Proven track record of growing social audiences and producing high-performing content, especially on TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts.

●     Ability to record and edit videos in a fast-paced environment for social platforms

●     Strong editorial judgment for when and how to respond to political, cultural, and media moments, and expertise in rapid response and real-time digital engagement.

●     Strong writing and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to translate lived experience and business perspectives into persuasive, social media-ready content and experience supporting narrative campaigns and collaborating across internal teams and external stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.

●     A deep understanding of social media strategies and comfort using engagement analytics to inform campaign decisions.

●     Excellent organizational and project management skills, with a strong ability to manage competing priorities, timelines, and deliverables with precision.

●     Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills, an ability to listen to and balance, negotiate and work with a variety of internal and external stakeholders.

●     Ability to work effectively with colleagues coordinating relationship management and events with a broad team.

●     Experience with, Google Analytics, LinkedIn, Muckrack, X (Twitter), Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, Hootsuite, and Sprout Social

●     Competency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Google Suite, and Asana, or similar platforms.

●     Skilled in video shooting, editing, and mobile/desktop production tools (Adobe Creative Cloud, CapCut, Canva, etc.).

●     Experience with EveryAction or similar systems and the ability to utilize data systems to track performance and engagement.

●     Ability to travel occasionally for events, shoots, and field content capture.
