
LOG Yearbook Design Editor

Job Summary
This is a student volunteer experience position. Volunteer experience participants receive monthly stipend payments.
The LOG Yearbook Design Editor works collaboratively with the LOG Yearbook Editor‑in‑Chief and other LOG Yearbook Editors to execute the 172‑page LOG Yearbook. The editor oversees two staff designers and has creative insights into how to best capture the year in visual form. The Design Editor also oversees editing and proofing the entire yearbook, including all spreads, the cover, senior tribute ads, senior photos, and the index.
Core Duties
Responsible for all story ideas and spread designs for the yearbook, in consultation with the Editor.
Collaborate with LOG Photography Editor and LOG Copy Editor to execute all yearbook spreads.
Creates style guide and master book file.
Delegates and assigns deadlines to two Staff Designers.
Edits and proofs all spreads (including photos and copy).
Regular contributor to yearbook, covering 12-16 spreads per semester (utilizing InDesign).
Must attend all editorial and staff meetings (2/week). Absences must be cleared in advance with Editor and Advisor.
Other relevant duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Creative, self‑motivated, organized individual.
Interest and/or experience in graphic design and/or student journalism.
Basic knowledge of graphic design software Adobe Creative Cloud, particularly InDesign.
Strong organizational and self‑management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Previous yearbook
ewspaper experience.
Past LOG yearbook experience.
Sophomore, Junior, or Senior standing for the 2025 – 2026 school year.
