
LOG Yearbook Copy Editor

Terms and Hours Approx. 5 - 7 hours/week, Fall 2026 and Spring 2027
Job Summary
This is a student volunteer experience position. Volunteer experience participants receive monthly stipend payments. The LOG Yearbook Copy Editor works collaboratively with the LOG Yearbook Editor-in-Chief and other LOG Yearbook Editors to execute the 172-page LOG Yearbook. The editor oversees two staff writes and has creative insights into how to best capture the year in written form. The Copy Editor also oversees editing and proofing of all copy (blurbs, quotes, and captions).
Core Duties
Responsible for all story ideas and copy written for the yearbook, in consultation with the Editor.
Collaborate with LOG Photography Editor and LOG Design Editor to execute and complete all yearbook spreads
Delegates and assigns deadlines to two Staff Writers
Edits and proofs all copy (blurbs, quotes, and captions)
Regular contributor to yearbook, covering 12 – 16 spreads per semester (blurbs, quotes, and captions)
Attend all editorial and staff meetings (2/week). Absences must be cleared in advance through the Editor and Advisor.
Other relevant duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
Strong organizational and self management skills
Interested and experience in copy editing and journalism
