Procurement Specialist – Packaging Components: Atticus
This position is responsible for overseeing and executing procurement activities for packaging components for Atticus, LLC. Functional responsibilities include vendor selection and management, pricing negotiations, contract maintenance, buying, receiving and inventory control. This role will report to the Senior Director, Sourcing & Procurement.
Responsibilities
Plan, coordinate and execute third‑party purchases for packaging components including enclosures, bottles, totes and labels ensuring appropriate quantities and lead‑times to support the production plan
Perform follow‑on purchasing activities that include goods receipts and performing 3‑way match processes for reconciliation of all goods receipts/invoice receipts/purchase orders. Facilitate resolution of exceptions while maintaining timely entry into the ERP system
Inventory management and production support via coordinating, executing and keying required stock transfers of raw materials and packaging components
Develop and maintain purchase order records/tracking and prepare management reports as required or requested
Aid the development, implementation and management of a process to select and approve primary and secondary vendors while ensuring formulation compatibility and regulatory compliance
Aid in managing vendor relationships utilizing supplier performance scorecards; cost improvement projects; preparing for supplier review meetings to discuss historical trends and provide visibility of future demand
Setup, utilize and optimize a material requirements planning (MRP) process for purchasing that aligns with the sales and operations planning process (e.g., sales forecast and production plan quantities and timing)
Communicate, coordinate and execute contingency plan(s) in the event of shortages or delays to mitigate business risk and/or disruption
Partner with key stakeholders in seeking out, initiating and leading cost savings opportunities
Required Skills/Qualifications
Bachelor's degree from a four‑year college or university in business, supply chain management, or a related field; advanced degree preferred
3+ years of work experience in procurement or supply chain management with a proven track record
Highly computer literate (in MS Excel, Word, Power Point, etc.)
Experience with computerized ERP/MRP systems. MS Dynamics365 preferred.
Excellent interpersonal skills and proactive communication skills
Strong written, verbal and presentation skills
Ability to work effectively across diverse and cross‑functional teams, under critical timelines and while balancing the needs of internal and external customers
Excellent analytical skills
Strong initiative, problem solving and attention to detail
