Rooted in community, based in strength, and grounded in respect, MCSR (formerly Men Can Stop Rape) prevents violence through transformational programs and services for youth and adults that promote healthy masculinity and empowered womanhood. The DC Coalition to End Sexual Violence (DCCESV) is a member-based organization committed to ending sexual violence through advocacy, education, and survivor-centered services.
This unique, shared position offers an opportunity to play a critical operational leadership role across both organizations, advancing shared goals with aligned strategies while respecting each organization’s distinct mission.
Position Summary The Director of Operations will oversee and coordinate operational functions across MCSR and DCCESV, ensuring smooth, efficient, and compliant organizational processes. This role involves strategic planning, financial management, human resources oversight, and fostering collaboration between both entities. The Director will act as a bridge to align administrative and operational strategies, support program and service delivery goals, and enhance organizational capacity.
Key Responsibilities Operational Leadership Manage daily operations, ensuring alignment with strategic goals for both MCSR and DCCESV. Develop, implement, and monitor organizational policies and procedures that comply with legal, regulatory, and funder requirements.
Financial Management Oversee budgeting, financial reporting, and grant compliance for both organizations. Coordinate with finance teams to ensure accurate accounting, audits, and financial transparency.
Human Resources Support recruitment, onboarding, and staff development in collaboration with leadership. Promote a positive workplace culture emphasizing equity, respect, and collaboration.
Collaboration and Communication Serve as a liaison between MCSR and DCCESV leadership, staff, and external partners. Facilitate regular coordination meetings to align operations, identify efficiencies, and share best practices.
Program Support Work with program directors to ensure operational support meets programmatic needs. Support special initiatives and activities with logistical and operational guidance.
Compliance and Risk Management Ensure compliance with relevant laws, policies, and funding requirements across both organizations. Identify and mitigate operational risks and implement continuous improvement practices.
Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Nonprofit Management, Public Health, or related field (Master’s preferred). Minimum 5 years of operational leadership experience, ideally in nonprofit or business settings. Strong financial management skills including budgeting and grant oversight. Experience managing multi-stakeholder collaborations or shared services. Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively across diverse teams. Commitment to the missions of MCSR and DCCESV with understanding of sexual violence and prevention issues. Proficiency with nonprofit management software, budgeting tools, and Microsoft Office Suite.
Working Conditions This position requires a flexible work schedule to meet the needs of two organizations. Hybrid remote and on-site work.
