Counterpointe Sustainable Advisors, a portfolio company of MassMutual, is a national financial services company serving the commercial real estate and energy sectors through mortgage, commercial PACE, and energy project financing for commercial real estate.
We are looking for an Associate to join our Research team. The Research Team provides insights to prospective clients, deal teams, management, and investors. Deliverables include data, analysis, due diligence, business memos, power point presentations, articles, blogs, and social media. A successful candidate will be a motivated professional with commercial real estate lending or energy finance experience and strong analytical, writing, and communication skills.The Research Associate will follow markets and trends, and provide data, analysis, and written material to internal and external clients. The candidate will handle multiple tasks and deadlines in evolving and growing fields.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Become a subject matter expert in dedicated areas
Support originations and asset management with deal inquiry, select due diligence, and surveillance
Canvas and share relevant news, policies, data, research, and insights
Build a library of information and resources through discovery and research
Maintain, validate and update databases, models, and portfolio analytics
Track elements of sustainable finance, metrics, standards, and guidelines
Develop content and verified information for clients, rating agencies, marketing, and investor reporting
Author and contribute to publications, power point decks, reports, analysis, and blogs
Initiate and create new research projects, databases, and tools
Prepare summaries, reports, charts, models and graphs of findings
Thorough and complete proofreading and verification of deliverables, including any AI-generated material
Conduct special projects
Other supporting functions as needed
Qualifications and Requirements
M.B.A. or B.A. with excellent credentials or commensurate experience
Three years of relevant work experience in research, underwriting, structured securities, or trading at financial institutions, rating agencies, or investment firms
Strong analytical and modeling skills
An ability to collect, organize, and analyze significant amounts of information
Familiarity with AI strengths and weaknesses
Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills
In depth knowledge of commercial real estate or energy finance
Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and other data analytics
