Overview
PDS - 3/ Power Delivery Substation
Mesa seeks a Protection & Control Designer with 4 - 6 years of design related experience.
Ideal candidate has 4 to 6 years of experience designing protection & control systems for high/medium/low voltage substations. Candidates with instrumentation & process controls experience will also be considered for this position. Candidates must possess knowledge and skillsets associated with designing systems that utilize protection & control relays, metering, instrument transformers (CTs/PTs), power transformers, AC auxiliary power, as well as DC/Battery controls. Candidates must possess thorough experience in generating drawings such as One Lines, AC/DC Schematics/Elementaries, Wiring/Connections and Front/Rear View Panel/Equipment Layouts using AutoCAD and/or Microstation design software packages. Ideal candidates will possess a learning mindset and be self-starters. This position will be hybrid in our Knoxville office.
Responsibilities
Design protection & control systems for high/medium/low voltage power delivery substations.
Generate drawings such as One Lines, AC/DC Schematics/Elementaries, Wiring/Connections, and Front/Rear View Panel/Equipment Layouts using AutoCAD and/or Microstation.
Work with protection & control relays, metering, instrument transformers (CTs/PTs), power transformers, AC auxiliary power, and DC/Battery controls.
Collaborate with project teams to ensure designs meet project requirements and industry standards.
Maintain/coordinate design documentation and provide design support as needed.
Occasional travel to project sites as required.
Qualifications
4 – 6 years of design-related experience in protection & control for substations (high/medium/low voltage).
Experience designing systems with protection & control relays, metering, instrument transformers (CTs/PTs), power transformers, AC auxiliary power, and DC/battery controls.
Proficient in generating drawings: One Lines, AC/DC Schematics/Elementaries, Wiring/Connections, Front/Rear View Panel/Equipment Layouts.
Experience with AutoCAD and/or Microstation.
Learning mindset and self-starter attitude.
Location & Travel Hybrid work arrangement in Knoxville, with occasional overnight trips to sites located in Arkansas, Southeast Texas, Louisiana and Mississippi.
