Substation Physical Engineering Associate II – Remote/Hybrid Eligible
We are looking for an experienced Substation Physical Engineering Associate II with 2–4 years of design experience in power substations. The role will involve creating and reviewing physical design drawings for high, medium, and low voltage electrical substations.
Key Responsibilities
Design and produce physical equipment/systems drawings for substations, including switchgear, transformers, bus work, conduit/raceway, grounding, and lightning/static protection.
Create One‑Line diagrams, electrical arrangement plans, conduit and grounding layouts, equipment plans, elevations, and bills of material using AutoCAD and/or Microstation.
Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure designs meet project specifications and regulatory requirements.
Conduct occasional overnight site visits to Arkansas, Southeast Texas, Louisiana, and Mississippi for field documentation and coordination.
Qualifications
2–4 years of design experience in high, medium, or low voltage electrical substations.
Proficient in AutoCAD and/or Microstation for drafting physical design drawings.
Strong knowledge of switchgear, transformer, bus work, conduit, grounding, and lightning/static protection.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, decision‑making ability, and attention to detail.
Self‑starter with a learning mindset and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Remote work eligible within the Southeast U.S.; hybrid option in Knoxville, TN.
