
Project Coordinator / Technical Writer

Overview Technica Corporation is seeking a Project Coordinator/Technical Writer for the Air Force Base Infrastructure Modernization (BIM) program. This role provides daily project coordination, reporting, and documentation support to the Program Manager and the program team. It is ideal for someone with strong organizational and technical writing skills who can handle multiple priorities in a fast-moving, government contracting setting.
Responsibilities Support the Program Manager in the execution of program objectives, schedules, and deliverables
Coordinate and track small projects or discrete workstreams within the larger BIM program
Prepare recurring program reports (e.g., status reports, metrics, dashboards, meeting minutes) for internal leadership and Government stakeholders
Assist in developing project plans, schedules, and resource tracking tools
Track action items, risks, and issues; support mitigation planning and follow-through
Coordinate meetings, prepare materials, and document outcomes and decisions
Ensure deliverables meet quality standards and contractual requirements
Interface with internal teams, subcontractors, and stakeholders to support program execution
Editing and standardizing technical content across engineering teams, including SOPs, Concept of Operations (CONOPs), implementation plans, user guides, operational procedures, design documents, and technical manuals aligned to BIM network modernization activities
Translate complex network, engineering, and operational concepts into clear, user-friendly documentation for Government and internal stakeholders
Gather technical information through coordination with engineers, program staff, and review of specifications, diagrams, and system documentation
Develop and maintain document repositories, version control, and records management for program deliverables
Qualifications Active Secret clearance with TS/SCI eligibility
Bachelor’s degree in a technical, business, or related field, or equivalent education and/or experience
2 years of relevant experience in project coordination, program support, and/or technical writing
Experience supporting technical or IT-related programs or projects
Ability to collaborate with network engineers, cybersecurity teams, and system architects
Demonstrated experience writing and editing technical documentation for IT, network, or engineering programs
Proven ability to synthesize technical input from engineers and SMEs into clear, structured deliverables
Understanding of different government contract types (FFP, CPFF, IDIQ, TOs)
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Project)
Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities with attention to detail
3-5 years of relevant experience in project coordination, program support, and/or technical writing
Knowledge of DAF-relevant projects and Department of Air Force (DAF) Acquisition
Proven ability and experience to understand network deployments across multiple bases, operations, and associated personnel qualifications
Experience developing technical documentation supporting network infrastructure, telecommunications, or enterprise IT programs
Experience developing status briefing materials for government stakeholders
Familiarity with documentation standards, configuration management, and version control in a DoD environment
Strong oral and written communication skills
Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment
Familiarity with ITIL Foundation
Project Management Professional (PMP) and/or Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA) Practitioner
Knowledgeable of OSHA standards
Location and Travel The position will be located in Sterling, VA, or other select locations as required by contract, and may support a hybrid work schedule. The final approved work schedule arrangement will be coordinated with the hiring manager. This position may require 10%-20% travel.
