Program Support Specialist for Marketing Salary Information: B13, $4,095.00/MO.

State Classification: Purchaser I - 1930.

FLSA Status: Nonexempt.

Telework Option: TDA does not offer telework; all employees are required to be physically present.

Responsibilities

Create and route all requisitions and order merchandise, supplies, and equipment; review requisitions for completeness and compliance; track status of requisitions and purchase orders; and process receipts of purchases.

Maintain procurement records, both hardcopy and electronic; update profiles of entities.

Prepare bid design and print specifications for marketing/promotional needs; coordinate with vendors; analyze bids and customer/vendor requirements; monitor contractor and vendor performance and compliance with marketing procurement.

Manage and maintain section inventory; provide administrative support including planning/scheduling meetings and conferences; maintain calendars and deadlines; assist with travel arrangements and travel vouchers.

Provide customer service and technical assistance to agency staff and the public; respond to GO TEXAN email; make recommendations when appropriate.

Assist with monitoring and maintaining marketing funding, budgets; reconcile monthly budgets; prepare budget reports, amendments; provide fiscal information on proposed grants, projects, procurements and legislation.

Assist the Director for Marketing in preparing monthly, quarterly and annual budget reports; prepare fiscal information on proposed grants, projects, procurements and legislation as it relates to the section, TDA and state; support Texas producers; develop contacts; attend functions (stock shows, trade shows, conferences, webinars, etc.) to promote Texas products; follow all TDA policies and procedures.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree (one year of work experience related to essential duties may substitute for one year of college).

One year of work experience providing technical/administrative support.

Experience providing customer service.

Experience preparing and developing reports and/or spreadsheets using MS Excel or similar software.

Knowledge of purchasing and procurement methods, state procurement principles and practices, supply sources, business administration and accounting principles.

Problem‑solving skills; ability to provide excellent customer service; strong computer and software usage.

Ability to perform arithmetical computations, evaluate bids, develop methods for locating supply sources, maintain recordkeeping, maintain vendor relationships and communicate effectively.

Physical Requirements Normal office work environment, may have exposure to dust and allergens; mostly sedentary but may involve walking, standing, moving, pulling, kneeling, stooping and bending; lifting up to 30 pounds; extended computer use; occasional overtime and some evenings/weekends; occasional travel up to 5%.
