Position Overview
Arkansas Veterinary Emergency & Specialists is the leading provider of specialty & emergency veterinary services in Arkansas. Essential Functions
Organizes hospital involvement in community events including committee participation, transportation of marketing materials to the event and working at the event booth.
Conveys hospital announcements and updates to referring veterinarians via direct mailings, email, and fax distribution.
Assists hospital managers with reviewing and evaluating new and ongoing marketing opportunities
Assists hospital managers with veterinary recruiting, including ad placement and coordinating travel arrangements and hospitality for the interviewee.
Coordinates clinic visits and other promotional activities for newly hired veterinarians.
Assists with continuing education seminars in the local area as needed.
Orders marketing materials as directed, including pens, magnets, brochures, letterhead, business cards.
Updates website, brochures, and other marketing materials as directed by management.
Coordinates special events for staff and referring veterinarians, including holiday gifts, cards, and luncheons.
Monitors budgets and coordinates the purchase of equipment and supplies, and oversees the maintenance of the facility
Responsible for all local accounting functions; ensure daily financial information is accurate
Oversees the management of the inventory and ensures proper documentation and systems are in place
May establish and oversee billing practices; reviews and maintains the accuracy of billing and oversees charge capturing
May be responsible for contracts or negotiations with new vendors
Maintain compliance of current licensure and the display of the same. Maintaining updated licenses for DVMs.
Works with the PetVet Care Centers support team to ensure compliance with all administrative responsibilities
Assists with submitting contract veterinarian invoices, submitting all local vendor invoices, and obtaining quotes
Responsible for Quarterly inventory counts and reconciliations
Responsible for monthly statements, accounts receivable, and working alongside collections for ongoing billing efforts
Performs other duties as assigned by Manager.

Ability to work with or around sick animals, potentially hazardous materials, cleaning chemicals, gas anesthetics, zoonotic diseases, and unpleasant odors
Depending on the functional area of assignment, tasks may involve extended periods at a keyboard or workstation and/or extended periods standing and/or walking
May include some climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling
Some tasks involve the periodic performance of moderately physically demanding work, usually involving lifting or carrying (up to 50 pounds)
Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.
Qualifications
High School diploma or equivalent.
Minimum 2 years of experience in Veterinary Medicine.
Administrative experience or Specialty preferred.
Word processing or publication software such as Microsoft Word and Publisher.
Strong customer service skills.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Team player and self-motivated.
Willing to travel as position requires.
Schedule
Monday through Friday; 8-hour daytime shifts, some nights, weekend, and holidays may be required.
Occasional traveling will be required.

Pay Range
$18 – $20 USD
