Position Overview Arkansas Veterinary Emergency & Specialists is a leading provider of specialty & emergency veterinary services. We welcome qualified candidates to promote our clinical care and support the hospital by maintaining inventory control. This role may include occasional after‑hour and weekend work.

Essential Functions

Organizes hospital community events including committee participation, transportation of marketing materials, and booth support.

Conveys hospital announcements and updates to referring veterinarians via direct mailings, email, and fax.

Assists hospital managers with reviewing and evaluating new and ongoing marketing opportunities.

Assists hospital managers with veterinary recruiting, including ad placement and coordinating travel arrangements and hospitality for interviewees.

Coordinates clinic visits and promotional activities for newly hired veterinarians.

Assists with continuing education seminars in the local area as needed.

Orders marketing materials such as pens, magnets, brochures, letterhead, and business cards.

Updates website, brochures, and other marketing materials as directed by management.

Coordinates special events for staff and referring veterinarians, including holiday gifts, cards, and luncheons.

Monitors budgets and coordinates the purchase of equipment and supplies, and oversees facility maintenance.

Responsible for local accounting functions and ensures daily financial information is accurate.

Manages inventory, ensuring proper documentation and systems are in place.

May establish and oversee billing practices and review billing accuracy.

May handle contracts or negotiations with new vendors.

Maintains compliance of licensure display and keeps licenses for DVMs updated.

Works with the PetVet Care Centers support team to ensure compliance with administrative responsibilities.

Assists with submitting contract veterinarian invoices, vendor invoices, and obtaining quotes.

Responsible for quarterly inventory counts and reconciliations.

Manages monthly statements, accounts receivable, and works with collections on ongoing billing efforts.

Performs other duties as assigned by Manager.

Ability to work around animals and hazardous materials, cleaning chemicals, gas anesthetics, zoonotic diseases, and unpleasant odors.

Tasks may involve extended periods at a keyboard or workstation, standing, walking, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, scrambling, or lifting/carrying up to 50 lb.

Other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

High School diploma or equivalent.

Minimum 2 years of experience in Veterinary Medicine.

Administrative experience or specialty preferred.

Proficiency with word‑processing or publication software such as Microsoft Word and Publisher.

Strong customer‑service, written, and verbal communication skills.

Team player and self‑motivated.

Willing to travel as required.

Schedule

Monday through Friday; 8‑hour daytime shifts, with occasional nights, weekends, and holidays.

Occasional traveling may be required.

Pay Range $18–$20 USD per hour.
