About This Job
The Social Services Analyst position is located in the St. Tammany Parish Child Welfare Office, Covington, LA (Home Development/IV‑E Unit). The role focuses on determining funding sources to offset state general funds for children in the custody of DCFS.
Responsibilities
Review, examine, evaluate, and determine clients' eligibility for complex federal, state, and agency criteria (Title IV‑E, Title XIX‑Medicaid, and state general funds). Obtain and clarify information from field staff to ensure accurate assessment. Maintain knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, program directives, and agency policies. Enter data into automated systems for certification. Re‑evaluate Title IV‑E, Title XIX, and state‑funded cases annually. Provide technical assistance and directives to regional and field staff, ensuring correct documentation and facilitating financial planning to return children to families. Provide training to field staff on the financial assessment process. Perform all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Three years of experience in social services; OR Six years of full‑time experience in any field; OR A bachelor’s degree. Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited institution counts as one year of experience for the six‑year requirement (maximum substitution 120 semester hours).
Appointment Type
Probational or permanent appointment up to 48 months. Positions may convert to other appointment types or result in promotion within 12 months.
Work Schedule
Monday–Friday, 8:00 am–4:30 pm. Flexible schedules may be available based on position and criteria.

Compensation
Social Services Analyst 1 – SER: $16.42/hour (Pay Level SS‑410) Social Services Analyst 2 – SER: $17.56/hour (Pay Level SS‑411) Social Services Analyst 3 – SER: $21.27/hour (Pay Level SS‑413)
