
Senior Court Clerk - Criminal Traffic Docketing

Responsibilities
Assist the Docketing Supervisor and perform technical clerical work in the Criminal/Traffic-Docketing Department, including supervision of the section, docket coverage, and maintenance of the section/department queues.
Ensure dockets are emailed and processed timely, review the Nolle Report daily, and keep the Docketing Clerk Manual current.
Attend court as needed, update the Recognizance Bond log daily, issue and recall warrants, process executed warrants, and maintain Block Scheduling calendars.
Perform the duties of the Docketing Supervisor in their absence, attend meetings, report monthly drawer count for quality control, and manage email and phone communications for the department.
Train clerks on criminal, traffic, and courtroom procedures; counsel and evaluate performance; assist in procedure development; schedule and approve leave; and generate and process filings electronically and physically.
Perform case processing by receiving and initiating case files; review judgments, prepare warrants, summonses, garnishments, executions, bond settings, and docket control.
Review legal documents for necessary filing information, determine processing required, and take actions in accordance with court rules.
Perform accounting duties: receive and disburse monies, reconcile financial accounts, and prepare daily and monthly financial reports.
Provide information and customer assistance in person, via telephone, or email to pro se litigants, attorneys, reporters, law enforcement, and other stakeholders.
Prepare documents such as court orders, calendars, notices of hearings, and coordinate the flow of documents for court assignments.
Minimum Qualifications Associate’s Degree in a related field or at least 60 semester hours from an institution of higher learning and two years of varied administrative experience performing a wide range of technical office duties.
Preferred Qualifications
Advanced knowledge of court procedures, policies, legal documents, and laws.
Advanced knowledge of court operations, functions, and scope of authority.
Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and handle a high-volume workload in a changing, high-stress environment.
Judgment and independent decision-making in accordance with general policy and objectives.
Ability to maintain complex records and prepare reports from an automated system.
