Assistant Coach and Director of Volleyball Operations
This position is responsible for coaching and mentoring NCAA Volleyball student‑athletes, recruiting prospective student‑athletes, and managing logistics within the women’s volleyball office. Specifically, the role will manage the summer camp, team logistics for away and home competitions, and serve as the primary liaison for women’s volleyball with the compliance office, university housing, and the business office.
Duties and Responsibilities
Work with the volleyball staff for on‑court development of individual student‑athletes, positional groups, and the volleyball team as a whole. Supervise the student‑athletes during practice. Assist with the instruction of players regarding techniques of the sport. Maintain proper inventory and care for team equipment and facilities.
Coordinate team logistics, including travel and meals for all home and away competitions and team‑related events. Serve as the primary liaison for women’s volleyball with the compliance office, university housing, and the business office. Responsible for P‑card transactions and expense reports. Responsible for basic budget activities and purchases for the team.
Assist with on‑campus and off‑campus recruiting of prospective student‑athletes.
Manage summer camp and other duties related to the Marquette Volleyball program as directed, including marketing and events.
Supervise student employees, including hiring, training, disciplinary actions, and ending the student’s assignment. Direct student managers and practice players for all practices and matches.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Bachelor’s degree. Minimum of 1‑year related work experience required, which could be as a student manager. Previous experience playing or working in a Division 1 volleyball environment.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Previous coaching experience preferred.
