Yolo Healthy Aging Alliance (YHAA) seeks a dynamic Executive Director to lead strategic, operational, and fundraising efforts that advance its mission to improve the well‑being of older adults in Yolo County. This role partners closely with the Board of Directors to expand programs, strengthen partnerships, and enhance advocacy, education, and service delivery.
Compensation & Location
Full‑time, exempt, hybrid (Davis, CA)
Salary: $80,000–$95,000 (DOE)
Benefits: Flexible schedule, paid leave, partial health premium reimbursement
Requires local travel within Yolo County (occasional Sacramento travel)
About YHAA YHAA is a nonprofit dedicated to supporting older adults by:
Education: Hosting workshops, events, and maintaining an informational website
Collaboration: Convening 90+ service providers to coordinate care and resources
Advocacy: Influencing policy on healthcare, housing, transportation, and more
Programs: Delivering services such as case management, transportation support, digital access, and home safety improvements
Position Summary Reporting to the Board, the Executive Director oversees all organizational functions, including strategy, operations, fundraising, communications, staff leadership, and community engagement. The role serves as YHAA’s primary spokesperson and relationship builder with funders, partners, and the public.
First‑Year Priorities
Launch participation in CalAIM (Medi‑Cal enhanced care management)
Build strong relationships with funders, agencies, and partners
Expand fundraising and secure new revenue sources
Strengthen communications and visibilitySupport and develop staff and internal systems
Key Responsibilities Fundraising & Grants
Lead fundraising strategy and annual plan
Write and manage grants; ensure compliance and reporting
Cultivate donors and sponsorships
Plan fundraising events with the Board
Advocacy & Policy
Lead policy initiatives and advocacy efforts
Collaborate with partners on aging‑related legislation and programs
Communications & Community Engagement
Serve as public spokesperson
Oversee events, website, and communications strategy
Build partnerships with community organizations and officials
Financial Management
Oversee budgeting, financial reporting, and compliance
Monitor revenues, expenses, and contracts
Ensure sound financial practices and audits
Leadership & Board Relations
Support and advise the Board
Lead strategic and operational planning
Engage stakeholders, volunteers, and partners
Foster a diverse, collaborative organizational culture
Operations & HR
Supervise staff and programs
Ensure legal and regulatory compliance (including HIPAA)
Oversee technology, operations, and performance tracking
Qualifications Preferred Experience
Bachelor’s degree (advanced degree preferred; relevant fields include public health, gerontology, social work)
3+ years in fundraising and grant management
Leadership or management experience
Strong communication, financial, and people management skills
Knowledge of aging services, policy, and systems (e.g., Medicare/Medi‑Cal)
Additional Strengths
Experience in nonprofit leadership or aging services
Ability to build partnerships with government and community stakeholders
Strong technical and organizational skills
Other Requirements
Valid driver’s license or reliable transportation
