Overview Premier, global, law firm is seeking a Senior Business Development Specialist who is energized by the startup and venture capital ecosystem and understands or is eager to learn what resonates with founders, investors, and growth-stage companies. Partnering closely with our Emerging Companies + Venture Capital team, this role will focus on strengthening key relationships and cultivating new opportunities that drive sustainable growth. The role requires strong collaboration, sharp attention to detail, and a consistent focus on delivering an exceptional client experience.
Responsibilities Leading the strategy and execution of high-impact events, including end-to-end logistics, stakeholder coordination, and relationship-building across the ecosystem.
Developing and maintaining marketing and business development content, including website copy, pitches, RFP responses, and directory submissions (e.g., Chambers).
Identifying and advancing cross-selling, speaking, sponsorship, and partnership opportunities to enhance market presence and support revenue generation.
Creating and executing integrated business development and marketing plans, including budget recommendations aligned with firmwide priorities.
Leveraging market intelligence, including legal and industry trends and competitive insights, to inform targeting and positioning strategies.
Managing and delivering marketing campaigns and initiatives on time and within budget to support practice group objectives.
Collaborating with practice group leaders to drive strategic initiatives and strengthen cross-practice alignment.
Qualifications Bachelor’s degree required; 4+ years of marketing experience (law firm experience preferred).
Knowledge of or direct experience with the startup or venture ecosystems is preferred.
Strong foundation in core marketing strategy, including innovative campaign development, competitive intelligence, market research, and pitch/RFP execution.
Exceptional writing and communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling content for founders, investors, and broader business audiences.
Highly organized, detail-oriented project manager able to prioritize competing demands in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments.
Entrepreneurial mindset with strong business acumen, sound judgment, and a client-first approach to identifying and advancing growth opportunities.
