Overview
Job Title:
Leasing Consultant
Salary:
$20 to $22 per hour
We’re looking for a talented leasing consultant who will be responsible for coordinating all activities related to apartment rentals, move-ins, move-outs, and lease renewals. The leasing consultant interacts directly with prospective and current residents to achieve maximum occupancy and ensure resident retention and client satisfaction.
Responsibilities
Focus on the needs of others by listening, understanding, and showing empathy and respect.
Provide excellent customer service to prospective and current residents; generate traffic, qualify prospects, lease apartments, prepare lease documentation, and complete move-in paperwork.
Ensure model apartments are in touring condition and orient prospective and current residents to the property.
Process renewal paperwork and deliver documentation to current residents monthly.
Maintain accurate records of traffic activity and follow up with prospects via phone, mail, or email.
Convert phone inquiries into scheduled appointments for property tours.
Inspect apartments prior to moves-in, coordinate move-in/out with the maintenance team, and ensure move-in readiness.
Create and maintain confidential resident files and review move-in paperwork with new residents.
Complete weekly leasing reports and ensure open/close procedures are followed daily.
Assist with resident relations throughout tenancy by responding to requests promptly and accurately.
Stay aware of competing properties and assist with planning resident activities to increase retention.
Comply with all company policies, health and safety rules, and applicable laws.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Education And Experience
High school diploma is required.
Minimum of one year of previous sales experience is preferred.
One year of previous residential leasing experience is preferred.
Skills And Requirements
Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills with the ability to relate to others.
Prior experience in Yardi Voyager or another equivalent system is preferred.
Basic level knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with all levels of management.
Ability to handle confidential matters.
Ability to work independently and prioritize in a fast-paced environment with urgency.
Clear written and verbal communication in English.
Ability to use general office equipment (telephone, printer, copier, etc.).
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Ability to defuse difficult situations.
Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and current auto insurance required.
Must comply with all safety requirements.
Complete and pass Avenue5 Fair Housing, Diversity and Inclusion Training within the first 30 days of employment.
