Role Description This is a full-time, hybrid role for an AWS Pre-Sales Solutions Architect based in Arlington, VA or Seattle, WA. This is a customer-facing, deal-driven role supporting Account Executives on AWS opportunities. You will be brought into qualified calls and are expected to lead technical discovery, shape solutions, and drive deals forward from first conversation through SOW and proposal.

This is not a delivery-only architect position. You will work directly with customers to understand their current state, identify gaps, and translate business and technical requirements into clear, executable AWS solutions. You will design solution approaches across areas such as GenAI, AI/ML, Data, and Migrations, ensuring alignment with both customer goals and delivery capabilities. You will own the technical side of the sales cycle, including architecture design, solution definition, and SOW creation. This includes building architecture diagrams, defining scope, and providing high-level estimates that are realistic and executable.

You will partner closely with AEs on properly qualify opportunities, move quickly from discovery to scoped solution, and ensure a clean handoff to delivery once a deal is closed. This role requires strong communication, the ability to lead technical conversations independently, and a bias toward action in a fast-paced, AWS co-sell environment.

Regular presence in AWS offices is expected to support alignment and drive joint opportunities

Qualifications Proven expertise in Solution Architecture to design scalable, secure, and effective AWS solutions. Strong Consulting skills, including client engagement, problem-solving, and ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. Experience in Software Development and Integration, with knowledge of programming, cloud-native tools, and AWS technologies. Understanding of Business Processes to align technical solutions with business objectives and value delivery. Excellent verbal and written communication skills to prepare technical documentation and engage with diverse teams. AWS Certifications are highly preferred (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect or related credentials). Experience in pre-sales roles or similar client-facing technical roles is a plus.
