
Sr Director, IT Delivery and Operations - (Dulles)

We are searching for a Senior IT Leader for our client's IT Delivery and Operations. The Sr. Director will be taking over a team of 33 (3 direct) as the current Sr. Director is retiring this summer.

Primary Responsibilities
• Provide unified leadership across software development, platform engineering, infrastructure and operations, and end-user engineering and services to enable seamless end-to-end IT delivery and ongoing support. • Take ownership of delivery outcomes across the technology portfolio, ensuring solutions are designed, built, tested, deployed, and operated in a secure, reliable, and scalable manner. • Define and enforce cross-functional delivery and operational standards, promoting consistency in engineering practices, quality assurance, and service management. • Collaborate with Quality Assurance, Enterprise Architecture, PMO, and Cybersecurity leaders to ensure alignment across related technology functions in the delivery of IT solutions and services. • Ensure release readiness and production stability through effective coordination among development, platform, testing, and operations teams. • Establish, track, and report on delivery, quality, and operational performance metrics; proactively identify risks and implement corrective actions. • Maintain strong financial oversight across delivery and operations, including investment prioritization, capacity planning, and cost efficiency. • Lead and mentor senior technology leaders, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and shared ownership of outcomes. • Drive continuous improvement across IT delivery and operations through the adoption of modern engineering practices, including platform engineering, automation, DevOps, and service management. • Act as the primary escalation point for critical delivery, quality, or operational issues affecting the business.
