Samaritan's Purse is seeking a Hispanic Ministries Specialist to join our team in North Wilkesboro, NC. You can be part of a highly professional North American Disaster Relief team. In this role, you will support the North American Disaster Relief and U.S. Rebuild departments by enhancing church and organizational partnerships, with a focus on the recruitment and development of Hispanic volunteer teams. A day in the life of a Hispanic Ministries Specialist At Samaritans Purse, the Gospel really is the center of all we do! We start each day with a time of devotions and spend time praying for each other, our staff and volunteers who serve around the globe.
Responsibilities & Qualifications
Maintain your personal relationship with Jesus Christ and be an effective witness for Him.
Work with the Church Relations Manager and Assistant Manager to develop new strategies and programs to further develop the Hispanic reach of the Church Relations program.
When needed, travel with NADR Program Management to support new responses and provide interpreters to assist staff and volunteers in communicating with the Hispanic population.
Aid in translating documents and presentations, ensuring all safety information and material is available in Spanish.
Support the development of relationships with Spanish speaking Lighthouse Churches and assist with site leadership on work sites.
Seek out new Hispanic partnerships and engage current partners through volunteer opportunities. Assist with the planning and implementation of Lighthouse Church Partners Conference and future events as needed.
Assist in promoting North American Disaster Relief by preparing for and attending conferences, meeting with local churches and giving presentations as needed.
Coordinate with the Hispanic Ministries department to support and achieve objectives in NADR and US Rebuild.
Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university and one (1) to two (2) years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Must be fluent in Spanish and English with strong proficiency in writing and speaking in Spanish.
Ability to coach and mentor others.
Ability to effectively present information in reports and both internal and external correspondence.
Thorough knowledge of conflict management and leadership principles.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Public speaking and presentation skills.
Working knowledge of Microsoft programs, i.e. Outlook, Word, Excel.
Twelve credit hours of college-level Biblical Studies preferred, not required.
