Starter/Ranger @ Bandon Dunes Golf Resort
Dream Golf, Bandon, OR, United States
Join Our Team as a Starter Ranger at Bandon Dunes Golf Resort!
As a Starter/Ranger at Bandon Dunes Golf Resort, you’re often the first and last person our guests interact with on the course. That means your warmth, your golf knowledge, and your ability to read a situation have a direct impact on someone’s experience at one of the best golf destinations in the world. You’ll keep the round moving, keep the course in order, and make sure every group feels taken care of — from the first tee to the final hole.
About Bandon Dunes Golf Resort: Bandon Dunes is a world‑class golf resort located on the Oregon Coast near the charming community of Bandon. Guests come to experience golf as it was meant to be at Bandon Dunes' six distinct golf courses. That includes five 18‑hole courses, which all rank among the top 16 public courses in the United States, according to Golf Digest. The resort is also home to two 'Courses with a Mission': Bandon Preserve, an award‑winning par‑3 course, and Shorty's, which opened in 2024. All net proceeds from both courses fund the Bandon Dunes Charitable Foundation, supporting communities along the South Coast of Oregon.
Beyond premier golf, guests delight in a variety of dining options at Bandon Dunes’ collection of restaurants. Whether you're looking to enjoy locally‑sourced, Pacific‑Northwest cuisine accompanied by an award‑winning wine list or prefer kicking back in a Scottish‑style setting with traditional pub fare and local microbrews, there is something for everyone.
Working at Bandon Dunes is a dream for golf fans, outdoor enthusiasts, and hospitality professionals alike. The Bandon Dunes team works together to create trips of a lifetime for our guests. We are passionate stewards of our resort, community, and environment. As an endlessly curious group, we ask questions, share ideas, and always look for a better way. With a hard‑working attitude, we help guide our guests through their pure golf experience, immersed in Oregon’s natural beauty and away from the demands of daily life.
What You’ll Do:
Set the tone from the first tee.
You’ll greet every group with a warm welcome, share key course information, and make sure golfers are set up for a great round — bags secured, scorecards in hand, local rules covered.
Keep the round moving.
You’ll monitor pace of play and turn times, keep the golf shop and your ranger colleagues in the loop, and when groups need a nudge to speed up, you’ll handle it with professionalism and good judgment.
Help golfers get the most out of the course.
From yardage markers to Turnstands, you’ll share the kind of on‑course knowledge that makes someone’s round better.
Protect the course.
You’ll remind players to replace divots, repair ball marks, and rake bunkers — keeping our courses in the condition our guests expect.
Keep your area dialed in.
The starter’s area reflects the resort. You’ll maintain a clean, organized workspace and carry yourself in a way that matches the Bandon Dunes standard.
Be ready for anything.
You’ll know emergency procedures and equipment locations, and you’ll respond calmly if a situation on the course calls for it.
What Makes You a Great Fit:
You know and love golf.
You’re familiar with the rules of golf and course etiquette — enough that guests trust you when they have questions. You don’t need a handicap card, but genuine comfort on a golf course matters.
You’re a natural with people.
You can hold a conversation with a first‑time golfer and a scratch player in the same hour. You’re warm, patient, and good at reading what someone needs from an interaction.
You stay steady under pressure.
Pace‑of‑play management, variable weather, and unexpected situations come with this role. You handle multiple things at once without losing your composure or your professionalism.
You’re available when golf happens.
This role includes weekdays, weekends, and varying hours — which is the nature of working at a resort. A valid Oregon Driver’s License with a clean driving record is required.
You bring the right attitude.
A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred. More than credentials, we’re looking for someone who takes pride in their work and genuinely wants to make guests’ rounds memorable.
