Purpose The Director of Operations is responsible for developing, overseeing, and improving operational aspects of the Adult Residential Division, ensuring efficiency, compliance, and excellence. The division provides safe and secure housing for 1,200 adults living with mental health conditions.
Position Overview Reporting to the Executive Program Director, the Director of Operations leads central business operations, fiscal viability, and division‑wide compliance. The role supervises operations associate, data analyst, and entitlement specialists and works closely with Project Manager/Operations, Senior Directors, and other leaders to standardize and promote efficiency and effectiveness.
Key Essential Functions
Develop and manage a business operations infrastructure that integrates clinical standards and business practices.
Provide leadership, direction, and talent development to staff.
Achieve operational efficiency and outcomes in facilities, budget/finance, workforce/scheduling, compliance, and other operational domains.
Centralize, standardize, and upgrade business and operational practices.
Collaborate with internal departments—Compliance, Fiscal, IS, Clinical Applications, One Call—to achieve program goals.
Develop annual budgets and performance improvement goals.
Maintain relationships with partners, community groups, state and regulatory bodies.
Use data to inform planning, service delivery, and overall management.
Lead intake and screening processes for potential clients.
Manage vacancy tracker and apartment portfolio programmatically.
Oversee data collection, analysis, and accurate reporting.
Develop and implement policies and procedures to enhance efficiency.
Monitor performance, make adjustments, and suggest operational improvements.
Prepare and present operational performance reports to senior management.
Travel to program sites as needed.
Other duties as assigned by the Executive Program Director.

Familiarity with NYS OMH, DOHMH, HUD, and CARF regulations.
Proven analytical skills and business acumen.
Ability to analyze complex situations, utilize data, and execute strategic interventions.
Computer Skills Required
Solid proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Project Management software, Outlook, and electronic health records.
Physical Effort / Work Environment
Ability to visit programs and facilities; walking, navigating stairs, interacting with residents.
Response to crises or emergencies involving walking, sitting, standing, bending.
Must be able to lift up to 20 lbs.
