Associate Director – Institutional Planning & Operations The Division of Institutional Planning & Operations (IP&O) employs a workforce of approximately 2,700 staff and is responsible for institutional strategic initiatives and operations across New Jersey, including planning, construction, facilities, public safety, environmental health, transportation, housing, and auxiliary/retail operations.

Rutgers University is seeking an Associate Director to oversee all aspects of facilities maintenance operations and services on the Camden campus. Responsibilities include environmental services, grounds services, maintenance and repair, event support operations, and oversight of utilities and renovations.

Responsibilities

Communicate in a clear, concise, and timely manner via verbal, written, and electronic formats.

Work collaboratively with peers and the Rutgers community, incorporating diverse perspectives and intellectual resources.

Generate goodwill and advocacy among peers and the Rutgers community, supporting a safe and harmonious work environment.

Engage in professional development supporting Right‑to‑Know, Marketplace, KRONOS, and all other sanctioned programs.

Dress in a professional manner in accordance with department policy and guidelines.

Salary and Employment FLSA Exempt, Grade 08.

Salary range: minimum $108,670; mid range $137,547; maximum $166,424.

Position is full time, 37.5 standard hours per week.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field with extensive experience in maintenance or facilities management and utilities operation.

Minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience with demonstrated leadership and management skills in a highly complex organization.

Certifications and Licenses

Valid Driver’s License.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Outstanding human relations, organizational, interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills.

Thorough knowledge and understanding of facilities management in a university setting.
