Salary Range: $55,000.00 To $65,000.00 Annually
Definition The Community Outreach Representative is responsible for increasing community awareness over time by engaging potential Patients, Volunteers, Advocates, and Donors located in Martin, St Lucie and Okeechobee counties. Representative will seek out and build strategic relationships with groups or individuals through meeting attendance and targeted education within community groups such as chamber of commerce, civic organizations, 55+ communities, Funeral Homes, Houses of Worship, ethnic and cultural groups, local community and volunteer groups. Position includes nights and weekend hours as needed.
Qualifications
Three to Five years’ experience in a community relations/education, public relations, sales or marketing role
Candidate must demonstrate professional, verbal and written communications and public speaking skills
Demonstrated ability to analyze relevant data for use in developing proficient strategic planning, goal setting and attainment of goals
Knowledge of local 55+ communities, gated communities, caregiver support groups and houses of worship preferred
Relationships within Martin, St Lucie and Okeechobee a plus
Healthcare for a not-for-profit experience preferred
Key Results Areas
Develop ongoing professional relationships and provide targeted education within community groups like; chamber of commerce, civic organizations, 55+ communities, Funeral Homes, Houses of Worship, ethnic and cultural groups, Veteran groups, local community and volunteer groups
Accurately track Community Relations Actions in Raisers Edge
Serve as a member of the Community Engagement Committee, advise and help with materials and support for the members to be successful in finding new leads for presentations or engagement opportunities
Success will be measured by number of presentations reported in Raisers Edge
Maintain a high level of urgency, customer consciousness and service excellence
Fulfill all responsibilities related to the success of the strategic plan of the organization, as requested and assigned
Provide pictures and/or stories with media release as needed to be used for social media content
Pick-up or deliver materials around town or between offices for Marketing or other departments
Attend meetings and events as needed to engage with other departments and support the Treasure Coast Hospice mission (Tree of Life, IRSC Classes, Local Professional Relations community Events and others) which come up as appropriate
Help with Foundation events as needed, including preparation support, completing assigned tasks at event and follow-up after event at summary meeting.
Participate as an active member of the Treasure Coast Hospice compliance program, including the emphasis to report, as well as complying with all Federal, State and Local laws as well as the organization’s compliance program.
OSHA Category Position will be categorized as category Ill (involves no routine or potential exposure to blood, body fluids/tissues).
Working Conditions
Typing or otherwise working primarily with fingers rather than with the whole hand as in handling.
Sedentary - Exerting up to 25 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria met.
Lifting - Frequently lifting 10 to 20 pounds.
The work is required to have close visual acuity such as/preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing, viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading.
Additional Information Incumbent may be required to perform emergency duty before, during and/or beyond normal work hours or days in the event of an emergency, crisis situation or disaster (man‑made or natural) including evacuation sites. The person in the position will work in a smoke‑free location, and is expected to adhere to all smoking restrictions.
