Mortgage Servicing Representative

Role: Responsible for maintaining the first mortgage servicing system including the preparation of periodic loan accounting reports, daily loan payment processing and administration, reconciliation, administration of insurance, annual escrow analysis and 1098 reporting. Service all member mortgage servicing needs.

Responsibilities

Manages all aspects of escrow collection, disbursement and analysis to include property taxes, Home Owner insurance and Flood insurance. Responsible for the timely remittance of real estate taxes for escrowed accounts. Perform escrow analysis.

Responsible for end of day, month and annual reconciliations, reports and 1098's. Research any differences determined by Accounting.

Process paid notes and discharge of mortgage, payment postings and credit disputes.

Process mortgage insurance cancellation requests and auto cancellation.

Provide First mortgage account maintenance in MS. Reconcile all secondary market transactions.

Provide payoffs as requested for first mortgages and back up for home equity and consumer loans.

Track home owner insurance and flood insurance. Updates MS. Provide reports to management on outstanding items. Force place as needed.

Work with statement vendor to ensure statements and notices are sent out timely.

Review all post-closing documents ensuring all mortgages have been recorded. Track these and provide reports at least quarterly to management.

Under supervision of the Manager, Real Estate manage and respond to all audit requests.

Post Close real estate loans for accuracy in Mortgage System, homeowners insurance, PMI, escrow, etc.

Process mail, answer telephones and respond to member inquiries.

Serve as back up for other servicing areas including home equity and consumer as well as processing.

Serve as subject matter expert and tester.

Perform clerical duties relating to loan servicing.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Ensure compliance with PFCU third party policies and procedures, applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to TRID, Reg. B, HMDA, Bank Secrecy, Patriot Act, Office of Foreign Assets Control.

Qualifications

Experience: One year to three years of similar or related experience.

Education: A high school education or GED.

Interpersonal Skills: Work involves much personal contact with others inside and/or outside the organization for the purpose of first-level conflict resolution, building relationships, and soliciting cooperation. Discussions involve a higher degree of confidentiality and discretion, requiring diplomacy and tact in communication.

Other Skills: Must be registered with a NMLS#.

Physical Requirements: Perform primarily sedentary work with limited physical exertion and occasional lifting of up to 10 lbs. Must be capable of climbing / descending stairs in emergency situation. Must be able to operate routine office equipment including telephone, copier, facsimile, and calculator. Must be able to routinely perform work on computer for an average of 6-8 hours per day, when necessary. Must be able to work extended hours whenever required or requested by management. Must be capable of regular, reliable and timely attendance.

Work Environment: Must be able to routinely perform work indoors in climate-controlled shared work area with minimal noise. This position requires regular, predictable and timely attendance at work to meet department workload demands.
