Lead HVAC Mechanic (Atlas)

Job Summary EMCOR Government Services has an immediate need for a Lead HVAC Mechanic in Bethesda, MD. The Lead HVAC will provide services to include supervising personnel, and performing maintenance and repair of equipment at the Intelligence Community Campus in Bethesda MD. This position is covered by the CBA for Local 99. The scheduled hours are: M-F 6:00am - 2:30pm.

Essential duties & responsibilities

Assist Chief Engineer with his duties.

Supervise and assist with the maintenance of site equipment and building structure.

Supervise and assist in the training and development of tour mechanics.

Assist EMCS Tech with the monitoring, maintenance and repairs of the BMCS systems on the site.

Assist with the troubleshooting of all equipment on site.

Supervise the performance of the preventive maintenance of all equipment on site.

Institute corrective action and/or inform his supervisor on any deficiencies found.

Attend meetings with client and USG and provide corrective solutions to site issues.

Supervise EMCS Tech, HVAC Mechanics, HVAC Tour Mechanics, Fire Alarm Tech and general maintenance workers.

Monitor subcontractors in their tasks and provide reports when needed.

Perform other tasks as directed by his supervisor.

Qualifications

CFC Universal.

Journeyman HVAC License.

Seven (7) or more years’ experience in maintenance and repairs on commercial‑industrial building equipment including but not limited to chillers (+/-500 tons), pumps, control systems, air handlers, cooling towers, heat exchangers, VAVs and VFDs.

Ability to read and understand blueprints, schematics and specifications.

Practical knowledge of chiller plant operations and basic knowledge of a refrigerant cycle.

Practical knowledge of building air systems.

Ability to work extended hours when needed.

Must be able to obtain and maintain an ISSA TS/SCI with polygraph clearance.

Physical Demands

Heavy physical effort (lift/carry up to 50 lbs and push up to 100 lbs).

Prolonged, extensive or considerable standing/walking.

Push, pull, move or lift any related equipment, supplies and parts required to complete the job.

Manual dexterity and mobility.

Considerable reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling and crouching as required.
