
EH&S Compliance Specialist

We are currently looking for an Corporate EH&S and Compliance Specialist to help us manage not only our corporate EH&S but also EH&S throughout each division of Trucent.
Responsibilities
Manage environmental obligations including required reporting, and record keeping.
Manage hazardous waste program (weekly checks, setup waste loads, work with vendor, maintain profiles, biennial report, etc.).
Works closely with the operations, HR, waste treatment, laboratory, and management personnel to ensure compliance in several areas including health and safety, air permit compliance, storm water, spill prevention, incident investigations, safety/security, etc.
Directs, develops, implements, and manages the organization's safety programs, policies, and procedures (including correcting unsafe acts/conditions, facilitating monthly safety teams/meetings, safety inspections/audits, and investigating accidents/managing corrective actions, as required).
Demonstrates commitment to continuing education in safety training in the following competencies: Fall protection, confined space, air quality, lock‑out, tag‑out (LOTO), and personal protective equipment (PPE).
Ensure full compliance with all federal, state, and local health and safety laws and requirements and that we continue to build a true safety culture.
Timely and effectively communicate with personnel and federal, state, and local authorities on environmental, health and safety compliance issues.
Oversee/ensure completion of all federal and state EH&S reporting and permitting submittals.
Manage compliance with governmental and regulatory agencies including DOT, OSHA, etc.
Administer and build upon quality programs.
Participate in safety and compliance requests and process by way of variety of vendor management systems.
Serves as point of contact for agency and company environmental, health and safety inquiries, inspections, audits, and community concerns.
Provide assistance and serve as site contact for on‑going investigation and remediation activities.
Qualifications Education
Bachelor's degree in environmental science, health, and safety, or related field, or equivalent experience.
Experience
8‑10 years of EHS experience, both at a plant as well as a corporate environment preferred.
Skills and Abilities
Strong leadership abilities with a positive attitude and enthusiasm to overcome challenges are required.
Effective teambuilding and decision‑making skills are required.
Excellent time management, organizational and planning skills are required.
Ability to work under pressure while maintaining focus to deliver expected results is required.
Data management/analysis and computer skills are required.
Significant knowledge of U.S. Environmental, Safety & Health laws (OSHA & EPA) required.
Strong communication, presentation, training and facilitation, project management skills are essential.
Proficiency in LEAN and Continuous Improvement manufacturing principles.
