
Employee Relations Technician I

Provides technical and administrative support, assisting with the implementation and coordination of personnel policies, procedures, and programs. This position plays a key role in fostering positive working relationships between employees and management by supporting investigations, tracking grievances, ensuring compliance, and promoting workplace fairness and equity.
Responsibilities
Facilitates processes and maintains files, records, and documents for all projects, programs, and procedures.
Collects and organizes data for upcoming reports, ensuring timely submission, and monitors ongoing events or workplace situations.
Performs a variety of administrative and clerical tasks, including preparing correspondence, managing files, scheduling appointments, and providing general office support for the Employee Relations team.
Creates accurate and well-formatted written documents by transcribing information from drafts, notes, or verbal instructions.
Efficiently manages the manager’s calendar by coordinating, scheduling, confirming, and adjusting appointments to optimize time and ensure smooth daily operations.
Handles incoming and outgoing correspondence, ensuring mail is properly routed and assembled with relevant documents, materials, or files.
Assists with employee fingerprinting processing by coordinating appointments, verifying documentation, facilitating fingerprint submissions, and maintaining accurate and confidential records in compliance with organizational policies and regulatory requirements.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
High School Diploma with three (3) years of related experience is required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of organizational and departmental functions.
Effective oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills, and the ability to use proper business spelling, grammar, and punctuation.
Ability to interview candidates effectively, with the ability to discern the relevance and importance of information provided by candidates.
Good computer skills and the ability to use all relevant software.
Ability to maintain accurate records and files.
Ability to take and transcribe dictation.
Ability to interact professionally with a variety of constituents.
Ability to follow clear and established processes and the ability to recognize the need for occasional deviation from standard practice.
Ability to deliver work according to specific operational targets.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
Constantly operates a computer and other office machinery.
Frequently remains in a stationary position.
Occasionally moves about inside an office.
Occasionally moves office equipment weighing up to 25 pounds.
Constantly works in an indoor environment.
