Specialty Account Manager – Rare Disease Amgen is seeking a specialty account manager to represent UPLIZNA to physicians, health care professionals, and healthcare facilities, establishing product sales and performing total territory account management.

What you will do In this vital role you will be responsible for representing UPLIZNA to physicians and health care professionals, establishing product sales, and performing total territory account management.

Develop a comprehensive and effective territory business plan aimed at achieving and exceeding annual sales goals.

Promote UPLIZNA within approved labeling in a comprehensive, fair and ethical manner consistent with industry and corporate legal and regulatory guidelines.

Address issues related to access, pull-through, and reimbursement by coordinating with key stakeholders and matrix team members.

Develop strong customer relationships by understanding customer needs and goals and communicating those needs to other team members.

Consistently meet or exceed corporate sales goals.

Communicate territory activity accurately and timely as directed by management.

Drive product demand among targets through education on disease state and product information.

Provide feedback to sales and business unit leadership, colleagues, and other internal departments about changing environment and results.

Adhere to the company’s compliance policies and guidelines, including the PhRMA code.

Work closely with patient services and market access team members to achieve overall business goals.

Coordinate between accounts and relevant field teams to support full range of account needs.

Educate healthcare professionals and office staff on site of care options.

Attend medical congresses and society meetings as needed.

Manage efforts within assigned promotional and operational budget.

Maximize use of approved resources to achieve territory and account level goals.

Successfully complete all company training classes.

Complete administrative duties accurately and timely.

Function as a contributing member of a high-performance team.

Perform such other tasks and responsibilities as requested by the company.

What we expect of you The Specialty Account Manager we seek is a motivated professional with these qualifications.

Basic Qualifications (Account Manager — Level 4)

Bachelor’s degree and 3 years of sales experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, medical device industry or hospital sales.

Associate degree and 6 years of sales experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, medical device industry or hospital sales.

High school diploma/GED and 8 years of sales experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, medical device industry or hospital sales.

Basic Qualifications (Specialty Account Manager — Level 5)

Doctorate degree and 2 years of collective account management, sales, and commercial experience.

Master’s degree and 6 years of collective account management, sales, and commercial experience.

Bachelor’s degree and 8 years of collective account management, sales, and commercial experience.

Associate degree and 10 years of collective account management, sales, and commercial experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Demonstrated success in a role involving reimbursement navigation, site of care education, and/or patient access coordination.

Experience promoting a product that requires extensive coordination with office staff, infusion centers, and patient services teams.

Proven ability to build strong customer relationships, educate on complex disease states, and adapt communication to diverse audiences.

Buy-and-bill experience with documented success and/or biologic/infusion experience strongly preferred.

Sales experience in Rheumatology, Gastroenterology, Nephrology, Hematology, Neurology, and/or rare/specialty disease states preferred.

Site of care and reimbursement experience strongly preferred.

Experience working with institutions and integrated delivery networks preferred.

Pharma account management selling experience essential; must coordinate across field teams to address full range of account needs.

Approximately 80% travel, including some overnight and weekend commitments.

Proficient in Microsoft Office.

Professional, proactive demeanor.

Strong interpersonal skills.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Salary: $154,736 – $183,900 for Account Manager — Level 4; $160,000 – $190,000 for Specialty Account Manager — Level 5.
