Job Description The HR Social Media Specialist leads the strategy, execution, and optimization of organic and paid social media initiatives that support talent acquisition and employer branding objectives. This role drives candidate engagement, strengthens employer brand visibility, and supports measurable hiring outcomes through high-impact, platform-native content across Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook.

This position is responsible for proactive and reactive social media engagement that protects and enhances UPS’s reputation and candidate experience. The specialist monitors social channels, responds to employee and candidate inquiries or concerns, and collaborates closely with Talent Acquisition partners, subject matter experts, and external vendors to deliver effective, brand-aligned social initiatives.

Key Responsibilities Social Media Strategy & Execution

Own the end-to-end lifecycle of organic and paid social media campaigns, including strategy development, content creation, publishing, and performance optimization.

Develop and deliver platform-native content aligned with current trends, audience behaviors, and best practices to increase reach, engagement, and candidate conversion.

Monitor cultural moments, platform updates, and emerging trends to identify opportunities to expand reach while maintaining brand integrity.

Support on-site content capture, including basic photography and video recording using professional or mobile equipment.

Employer Brand & Recruitment Marketing Impact

Drive qualified organic traffic to recruiting channels to increase inbound candidate interest and support reduced cost-per-hire.

Strengthen employer brand awareness through authentic, compelling storytelling tailored to priority hiring audiences.

Ensure all social content aligns with corporate messaging, approved narratives, and brand guidelines.

Paid Media Optimization & Vendor Management

Partner with marketing partners and other vendors to optimize social campaigns and alignment with hiring priorities.

Lead day-to-day coordination with external partners, including timelines, asset reviews, feedback, and status reporting.

Ensure all deliverables meet performance objectives and brand standards.

Performance Analytics & Reporting

Track, analyze, and report on key performance metrics across organic and paid social channels.

Validate vendor-provided data to ensure accuracy and reporting integrity.

Translate performance insights into actionable optimization recommendations that improve engagement, traffic, and recruiting outcomes.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

Collaborate with leadership and cross-functional stakeholders to align messaging priorities and secure approvals.

Stay informed of internal initiatives and adapt social content to relevant business priorities and current events.

Ensure timely execution of campaigns that support broader HR and business objectives.

Role Expectations

Own planning, execution, and optimization of social media campaigns supporting Talent Acquisition and employer brand initiatives.

Apply platform-specific best practices for Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook, adapting strategies as algorithms and trends evolve.

Produce and manage high-quality social content using appropriate creation and editing tools.

Collaborate effectively with vendors and internal partners to maximize paid and organic performance.

Leverage performance data and insights to continuously refine strategy and improve outcomes.

Qualifications Required

Must reside in the same geographic area as the role or be willing to self-relocate.

Must be willing and able to report to the UPS Corporate Office in Atlanta on a hybrid basis of four days in office and one day remote.

Must be willing and available for frequent local travel and occasional domestic travel.

Must be flexible to work nonstandard hours as needed for projects, events, or campaigns.

Familiarity with social media platforms, including Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Basic understanding of social media analytics and performance metrics.

Preferred

Bachelor’s degree (or international equivalent) in marketing, communications, human resources, or a related field.

2+ years of experience in social media, digital marketing, or a related discipline.

Experience managing or supporting brand social media accounts.

Experience using social media management tools (e.g., Sprout Social, Sprinklr, or similar platforms).

Basic knowledge of photography and video capture, including use of camera equipment or mobile content creation tools.
