Economic Stability Specialist

About This Job The mission of the Louisiana Department of Health is to protect and promote health and to ensure access to medical, preventive, and rehabilitative services for all residents of the State of Louisiana.

Minimum Qualifications

Five years of economic stability social services experience; OR

Six years of full-time work experience in any field plus two years of economic stability social services experience; OR

A bachelor's degree plus two years of economic stability social services experience; OR

An advanced degree in a social sciences field, business, public, or health administration plus one year of economic stability social services experience.

Experience Substitution Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.

Job Duties

Deliver professional, high-quality instructor‑led and web‑based training on ES‑specific and department‑wide curricula to staff and stakeholders statewide.

Facilitate engaging learning experiences using adult learning principles and technology tools, ensuring effective knowledge transfer and training evaluation.

Maintain strict adherence to standardized training curricula while tracking, reporting, and evaluating training outcomes.

Develop, update, and revise training materials and courses to reflect current policies, procedures, and program requirements.

Coordinate and conduct statewide training sessions, workshops, and conferences, including all logistical preparation and communication with stakeholders.

Lead and support train‑the‑trainer initiatives by coaching new trainers, providing feedback, and contributing to curriculum design and improvement.

Assess training needs, conduct evaluations and surveys, and provide recommendations and technical assistance to enhance staff development and program performance.

Compensation Economic Stability Specialist – $22.76 per hour / $1,820.80 bi‑weekly.

This position is eligible for the following Special Entrance Rates (SER), as well as a Premium Pay of up to $2.00 per hour for hours worked based on longevity.
