We're early-stage, growing fast, and looking for someone who wants to build something that matters. The Role
We're hiring a full-cycle Account Executive to own pipeline generation, deal progression, and closing. This is not a "sit back and work inbound leads" role. You'll be prospecting into municipalities and utilities cold, building relationships with city managers, utility directors, and operations staff, and guiding deals through multi-stakeholder buying processes that often include board or council approval. You'll have a direct line to leadership, real influence on how we sell, and the autonomy to run your book of business the way you see fit. It also means there's no playbook handed to you on day one. You'll help write it. What you'll do
Prospect into municipalities and utilities via cold calls, emails, and networking to build your own pipeline Run discovery calls that uncover real pain, not just surface-level interest Build business cases that help your champion sell OutiFi internally to other stakeholders Navigate 90–120 day sales cycles involving multiple decision-makers and board/council approvals Manage 25–30 active opportunities at any given time Attend industry conferences and events to generate leads and build relationships (after 90 days) Work closely with our team to ensure smooth handoffs from sale to implementation Keep Pipedrive updated and your pipeline accurate Who You Are
You are a hunter. You have a proven track record of building pipeline from scratch through cold calls, not inbound leads, not warm handoffs. You've picked up the phone, booked your own meetings, and closed deals that started with a cold conversation. This is non-negotiable. You have demonstrated experience running live product demos and owning the full sales cycle from first cold call through signed contract. You don’t hand off to someone else to close. You have a history of hitting or exceeding quota, and you can back it up with real numbers — call volume, meetings set, deals closed, revenue generated. You're a consultative seller. You lead with the client's pain, not your product's features. You listen more than you talk. You can manage a long sales cycle without losing momentum. You know how to stay relevant and bring value in every touchpoint, not just "check in." You're comfortable arming a champion to sell on your behalf when you're not in the room. You don't need to be babysat. You're self-managed, disciplined, and accountable for your own activity. You're kind, honest, and you treat people with respect, whether it's a prospect, a teammate, or someone who tells you no. Nice to have but not required:
Experience selling into government, municipalities, or utilities Familiarity with SaaS sales motions and metrics Experience at an early-stage company where you helped build the sales process Compensation and Benefits:
Commission: 20% of annual contract value + 20% of onboarding fees Realistic OTE: $98,000–$115,000 (top performers can exceed this) Travel: Conference and client travel after your first 90 days OutiFi's Core Values
