Job Title: Rent Loan Manager Organization: The Flagstone Initiative Location: Remote; must be based in Birmingham, AL Terms: Part-time Contractor with expectation to transition to full-time Compensation: $25/hour (part-time contractor) Schedule: 20 hours/week 4 hours/day, 2 hours in the morning and 2 hours in the afternoon Priority Deadline to Apply: April 29, 2025 About Flagstone: Flagstone is a nonprofit dedicated to upstream eviction prevention we prevent small financial shocks from becoming a crisis with our Rent Loan. When the car breaks down or work is missed to care for a sick kid, paycheck-to-paycheck renters start falling behind on bills. Once they fall too far behind, there's very little help available and eviction becomes inevitable. We offer $500 no-fee, no-interest Rent Loans to help folks stay current on rent, even when money is tight. Position Summary: The Rent Loan Manager is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of Flagstone's Rent Loan process. This role is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, comfortable with independent work, and excited about making a real impact for paycheck-to-paycheck families. Over time, this role will also involve helping improve the processes that allow Flagstone to scale Rent Loans across Alabama and beyond. Responsibilities: Manage daily Rent Loan processing operations Document decision-making processes accurately and thoroughly Engage with applicants through online customer service Dig into applicants' financial situations to better serve our renters Report progress and findings to the team regularly Contribute to Rent Loan process improvement conversations over time Qualifications: Experience with detail-oriented processing or operations Ability to document decision-making processes Experience with online customer service Experience working with Google Workspace Experience using Salesforce or other online customer management platforms Attention to detail and ability to follow and help evolve decision-making logic Comfortable working independently on a small, hands-on team Excited about eviction prevention and making an impact for paycheck-to-paycheck families Who is a great fit for this role: Comfortable with small, hands-on teams:
