We have an exciting opportunity for an entry-level Compliance Specialist at our Torrey Pines, San Diego, CA location. The Compliance Specialist will work in a team environment and closely with Procurement Compliance Management to support procurement governance, risk mitigation, data analysis, process innovation, and oversight—while leveraging emerging AI technologies, the Azure suite and Atlassian tools to enhance compliance operations.
Duties and Responsibilities
Performs procurement analysis to ensure compliance to regulations, contractual requirements and Company policy.
Analyzes data and situations, and recommends solutions; contributes on actions to be taken. Compiles and analyzes data to identify trends and recommend areas for process improvement; participates in and recommends appropriate electronic and hard copy reports and records.
May participate in the development, implementation and audit of policies, procedures and associated documentation; ensures compliance with appropriate statutes, regulations and Company practices.
May interacts with internal and external customers and audit agencies.
Maintains the strict confidentiality of sensitive information.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Responsible for observing all laws, regulations and other applicable obligations wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company. Expected to work in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices.
Job Qualifications
Typically requires a bachelors degree in a related discipline and one or more years of professional contracting and/or procurement compliance experience. Equivalent professional experience may be substituted in lieu of education.
Must have a general knowledge of FAR, DFARS, DEAR, CAS, ITAR and/or EAR regulations as well as some understanding of one or more of the following; supplier administration, supply chain, purchasing, material management, price/cost analysis and/or production control principles, theories, concepts and techniques.
Must have some experience organizing, planning, scheduling, conducting, and coordinating work assignments to meet project milestones or established completion dates.
Must possess the ability to understand new concepts and apply them in an evolving environment while participating in the development of new processes.
Must Be Customer Focused and Possess
The ability to identify issues, analyze data and develop solutions to a variety of problems of moderate scope and complexity.
Good analytical, verbal and written communication skills to accurately document, report, and present findings.
Good interpersonal skills enabling an effective interface with other professionals.
Good computer skills including working knowledge of emerging AI technologies, the Azure suite and Atlassian tools is preferred.
Ability to work independently or in a team environment is essential, as is the ability to work extended hours as required.
