The Change Communications Manager leads communication strategies that guide the organization through significant operational, clinical and technological advancements and change across key stakeholder populations. The position partners directly with executive leadership, serving as a strategic advisor and expert storyteller. In addition, the manager functions as an organizational patient communication expert, ensuring messaging is clear, accessible, compassionate, and aligned with Moffitt’s commitment to exceptional patient care.
Credential and Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism, Public Relations, or Communications.
Minimum five (5) years' experience working with organizational leadership groups to develop executive and organizational communications and executing internal, corporate or external communications or related strategies for engaging large populations of people in a health care, community, public relations or related environment.
Responsibilities Lead Communication Planning for Strategic Efforts
Develop and execute communication strategies for major clinical, operational, and organizational initiatives.
Build communication plans that support awareness, readiness behavior change, and sustained adoption.
Collaborate with MMG leadership, clinical operations, hospital operations, and project teams to ensure messaging reflects real-world impacts and organizational priorities.
Maintain communication calendars, message maps, and stakeholder matrices.
Gather feedback, track communication effectiveness, and adjust plans accordingly.
Support real-time communication needs during critical operational changes and major milestones.
Develop Leadership Communications
Draft messages, presentations, updates, and briefings for the Physician-in-Chief and Chief Operating Officer.
Build communication plans that enhance leadership visibility and alignment across MMG and hospital operations.
Advise senior leaders on communication tone, timing, and approach.
Create Content and Messaging
Create compelling content including emails, FAQs, presentations, intranet articles, talking points, and system-wide announcements.
Translate complex clinical, operational, and technical information into audience-appropriate messaging.
Maintain consistency in tone, brand, and voice across all channels.
Lead Patient Communications Planning and Coordination
Lead strategy, planning, and development of patient-facing communication for major initiatives.
Develop patient letters, FAQs, signage, website content, social media messaging, and appointment-related materials.
Work with Patient Experience, Clinics, Operations, and Marketing to ensure communications are empathetic and easy to understand.
Lead Stakeholder Engagement and Coordination
Provide communication guidance and regular updates to project sponsors, clinical leaders, and executives.
Facilitate message-alignment sessions, briefings, and communication-focused meetings.
Coordinate with cross-functional partners to ensure timely and accurate information flow.
