Wireline Tractor Field Specialist (Altus Intervention)

Our Wireline Team serves as the repair hub for all global Wireline technologies, delivering high‑level service to maintain, repair, and refurbish equipment.

Responsibilities

Demonstrate advanced competency in electronics to independently troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve technical issues on all Baker (Altus) tractor and mechanical tools.

Operate, maintain, and optimize rotation and mechanical equipment to ensure efficient and safe service delivery.

Execute all field operations in strict accordance with Baker procedures, industry standards, and client expectations.

Prepare, verify, and control all equipment required for tractor operations, ensuring readiness and compliance with operational checklists.

Lead the completion of the final Baker (Altus) job package/Job Planner, including reporting, documentation, and quality verification.

Coordinate Baker Hughes (Altus) activities at the district level in collaboration with Operations and Sales teams.

Collect and validate all customer‑provided information necessary for job preparation and execution.

Complete job documentation and ensure equipment is maintained to the highest standard.

Provide mentorship, training, and hands‑on guidance for developing other Field Specialists and junior personnel.

Offer recommendations to the Operations Manager regarding performance evaluations, hiring decisions, or promotions.

Participate in company‑directed professional development, technical courses, and project work to advance personal and organizational capability.

Uphold and demonstrate Baker Hughes’ commitment to Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) excellence across all operations.

Maintain strict compliance with all internal HSE standards, regulatory guidelines, and procedural requirements.

Immediately report all nonconformities, equipment issues, and undesired incidents to the Operations Manager.

Ensure all tools, vehicles, and equipment are cleaned, maintained, and presented to professional standards.

Contribute to onshore activities including equipment upgrades, maintenance programs, and quality control initiatives.

Participate in technical/safety meetings, project reviews, and operational planning sessions to enhance service delivery and efficiency.

Qualifications

Engineering degree or Technical Diploma.

3+ years of directly related wireline tractor and/or mechanical intervention experience (preferred).

Valid CDL Class A Driver’s License with a clean driving record; towing trailer experience highly preferred.

Flexible ability to travel and work in other districts across the U.S. when required.

Proficiency in basic computer applications (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and internal reporting tools).

Strong verbal and written English communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with clients and internal stakeholders.

Demonstrated ability to perform under pressure, manage multiple priorities, and maintain high organizational standards.

Strong interpersonal skills, teamwork orientation, and the ability to lead by example.

Demonstrated accountability, ownership of work quality, and commitment to operational excellence.
